One of the ways to get to know a country is to volunteer, but not just any volunteer, but a different volunteer experience; where you can know, live and feel the true essence of that place and its people. You can do this by volunteering in Bali, in this magnificent island of Indonesia.


Get to know for yourself this wonderful country while you dedicate your time to a social cause as important as this one.


We work in several kindergartens in Ubud and the surrounding villages, we will assign you according to needs and capacity. In addition, we have our own self-run kindergarten for 4-5 year olds, who can attend free of charge. The children are just at the beginning of their school careers and the opportunity to start learning English from such an early age will be remarkable for them in the future.


As in kindergartens around the world, the teaching is informal, as the children will want to play with you more than what you "teach" them. However, by simply getting them excited about coming to school, giving them some basic English phrases, such as simple greetings, you may have sown the seeds of a lifelong learning habit.


All the kids will be super excited to see you, they are very welcoming, partly due to the natural and genuine friendliness of the Balinese.

A typical volunteer's day begins with breakfast at the lodge with all the volunteers. Volunteers set out to the project (by bus or on foot depending on the assigned area) where they meet with the local coordinator to see what activities are planned for the day.

Throughout the morning each volunteer contributes to the assigned task. There is a stop for lunch and, depending on the needs, the tasks are continued or free time is available.

 The volunteer can visit nearby areas in his or her free time. In the evenings, the group has dinner and prepares for the next day.

 Bali is an island of overflowing natural landscapes. There where the green color acquires a range of tonalities that I did not even know existed. A little corner of Indonesia where there are almost more temples than houses and where its people are always ready to welcome you with a smile.

In Bali, contrary to the rest of Indonesia where there is Muslim majority, 90% of the population is Hindu. Each city, each town, each home, each sacred place, in cliffs, in lakes, in mountains... there is a temple in each corner of the island.

To be part of the program is not necessary any specific training, it is only required: Committed people, as you actively participate in educational and social activities that require your commitment. Knowledge of the Indonesian language or English Willingness and ability to work in a team. It is important, as you collaborate with other volunteers and people from different cultures.

To be picked up at the airport you must arrive Sunday between 00:00 and 23:59 hours.

Important notes to keep in mind:

Contributions are made through the web with the STRIPE system, PayPal or current account at Triodos Bank, where the accounts of Adventure Volunteer and/or local organizations or Volunteer World platform are located. All transaction costs both shipping and return in case of return must be covered by the volunteer.

Visas for the country must be issued by Volunteer World.

Alojamento

The volunteer house is located in Pejeng Kaja, 15 minutes from Ubud. The accommodation has shared rooms for volunteers, between 4 and 8 people per room. They also have enough space for them to interact and enjoy their time in Bali. There are two centers in Pejeng that are specially equipped for the accommodation of the participants.


How is the accommodation in the volunteering in Bali?

Alimentos e Bebidas

3 meals during the week (breakfast, lunch and dinner) 2 meals during the weekend. You can make use of the common kitchen, and there are food stores nearby.

The gastronomy in Indonesia is delicious and diverse, with a wide variety of flavors and foods that you will taste during your stay in the country. Typical dishes include Mie Goreng (fried noodles and vegetables), Nasi Goreng (fried rice and vegetables) or Gado Gado (mixed vegetables with satay sauce). 


It is an ideal diet for vegan or vegetarian volunteers, Indonesian cuisine uses a lot of tofu and tempeh (soy), there are also some western dishes available. The breakfasts are varied and include pancakes, fresh fruit, toast, etc.


Tea, coffee and purified water are available in the house. We do not recommend drinking tap water. 


We recommend bringing your own padlock.

ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER is a non-profit organization, established in 2017. We collaborate in the social and environmental field through projects of conservation and protection of the environment and animals, as well as in the social part through projects of empowerment of women, community development, functional diversity, medical or teaching.


Our team of collaborators has a deep experience in international volunteer programs.  We know all the realities of the areas where we are working, collaborating and where we have a presence. 


Our projects offer volunteers the opportunity to meet, share and participate in social and environmental projects.
