Teach in an elementary school

Assist the teacher during classes and teach english, arts and math yourself. Play outdoor games with the kids and do sports with them.

About the project

The elementary schools where you can realize your volunteer work provide eduaction for children from 5 to 12 years. Some schools also receive younger children in a kindergarten or pre-kindergarten. Depending on the school there could be between 100 and 650 children.

You are free to decide ever if you want to volunteer part time or full time, because the schools are flexible with their work schedules. Neither you need special skills nor professional educational background. But you will need a lot a patience, willing to work independently and proactive, showing your creativity and ideas.

Children are taught the regular school subjects like science, math, and geography. Lessons in arts, music, computing and physical education are also offered. Even English is taught as their foreign language class.

Generally the children at the schools are from low-income families. The schools are financed by a annual budged from the government, so that parents only have to pay for some school materials and a low tuition fee.
