Teaching English to Buddhist and Learn their Buddhist Culture

Volunteer to teach young monks with unique opportunity to learn about there life style in a fascinating monastery. Monastery life in one of the world’s most spiritual countries. Nepal has many spectacular Buddhist monasteries . These monasteries house hundred of Monks enrolled in the life of Monk-hood from early in there lives. They study and live in the monastery. They mostly use Tibetan language only during their study and their chances of learning English are very limited.

Teaching English to Buddhist monks is an excellent opportunity for volunteers who are interested in Buddhist and culture. Volunteers will also have wonderful opportunity to learn Vajrayana from of Buddhism and witness colorful rituals and prayers. As a volunteer in teaching English to Buddhist monks project you will work in the monastery where you will teach English to the monks. during the teaching you will be encouraged to converse with monks to improve their speech . You will also teach them about grammar rules and try to increase their vocabulary. you will work in the monastery where you will place accommodation eating and studying. The monasteries are usually very spacious . A central building will house prayer room . And volunteers should also be flexible practical self motivated and open minded to learn new culture.

The tropical jungles of the Tarai preserve some of the best wildlife habitat in the subcontinent. The outdoor adventure sports into the wilderness to see wild animals, birds and natural beauty. You ride on an elephant’s back or on a four wheeler jeep accompanied by a fully trained guide (naturalist) to view the nature and animals. From a tourist point of view, Chitwan and Bardia are the most popular National park for wildlife safari in Nepal. Himalayan heritages and as well as experienced of some wild animals breathtaking on widest pass Thorong la 5416m. It opened for trekkers in the 1980 B.s and since has been possible fro the adventure travelers.

Program Requirements

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s). Of course, there is an exception for children that are accompanied by their parents.

Transportation form KTM airport to welcome dinner. Detailed in country orientation program, including basic language and cultural immersion. local project transport where necessary. 3 major sight to visit in Kathmandu such as world heritage sight Accomodation and main meals during training period and placements. Jungle safari in chitwan national park only accommodation during visit safari program. 24/7 emergency support, local phone, program administration and contribution to the project costs.

Airport Pickup at Tribhuvan International Airport

We provide airport pick up and drop by personal car and from airport we drop to the volunteer house our airport representative always at the airport welcome to the our volunteers . Also we provide transportation to the placement pick up/drop off.

Accommodation

We Volunteer Nepal manage your entire Accommodation A simple room with a bed. We advice you to bring sleeping bag and mosquito net with you or you can always buy here which is 2-3 times cheaper than back home.

Food & Beverages

Three organic veggie meals a day and any time fresh local fruit. Breakfast occurs at 7:30 am and consists of a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits. Lunch is 11:30 am and usually dall/bhat (rice, lentils and vegetables), dinner is at around 7 pm and is once more dall/bhat. The food is very simple but also extremely delicious and filling.

Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu. We assist you to find cheap flights to Nepal.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Nepal provides security and is a plus to have.

Crowdfunding Service
Generally, volunteering abroad involves certain costs. In case you need financial support, we will assist you to fundraise your volunteer program in Nepal.
Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with We Volunteer Nepal during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
