The project

Being one of the top most commonly spoken language in the world, spoken English has a huge role to play when it comes to making a career. This becomes all the more important in places and for people for whom employment opportunities are limited. 

To work at the industries in the town areas, English language and basic computer skills proficiency is a significant requirement. But in Cambodia the opportunity to learn and study is not available for everybody, especially, those from poor and underprivileged family backgrounds. As a result many people remain either jobless or have to struggle with an unskilled labour job profile.

The Teaching English Volunteer Program, as the name suggests, is an effort to improve and strengthen the language skills of children from poor family backgrounds, and help them carve a better career for themselves in the future. 

Volunteer work

Usually volunteers work alongside the staff English teachers, sometimes monks, or even lead the classes in improving the pronunciation and conversational skills. Volunteers are welcome to bring in their own ideas to the classroom as well to make it more engaging and fun to study.
