local experience. Teaching English abroad with Connections is more than
volunteering — it’s an opportunity to make an impact, experience Colombian
culture firsthand, and grow personally and professionally.
Every volunteer will participate in a
Teaching Training week, a practical mini TEFL-style course designed by our
academic team to prepare you for the classroom. During this week, you’ll learn
effective lesson planning, classroom management techniques, and our unique
TalkBack teaching methodology.
At the end of your volunteering experience, you will receive
an official Teaching Certificate of Participation, which includes the
completion of this mini TEFL training. This certification is a valuable
addition to your résumé or CV, helping you strengthen your professional profile
and future teaching or international work opportunities.
Your role as a volunteer will be lead a class from Monday to Friday (4
hours per day) using the materials and lesson plans provided. These lesson typically involve groups of 5 students in a classroom equipped with a laptop, a video projector and a sound system. No Teaching experience required.
