    Join the Community Support Program in Barcelona! In the vibrant urban landscape of Barcelona, inequality and poverty are stark realities. Many face challenges such as limited access to social services, economic instability, inadequate housing, and the elusive search for employment. This program addresses diverse needs, providing support ranging from basic necessities like food, clothing, and medical care to empowering activities like football and language education.

    Our mission goes beyond alleviating hardship; we aim to uplift lives by partnering with dedicated nonprofit organizations throughout the city. Volunteers play a crucial role in improving the lives of those living in poverty and facing inequalities, including refugees and individuals battling addiction.

    What to Expect:

    • Diverse Support: Provide basic necessities and empower individuals through educational and recreational activities.

    • Community Engagement: Work with local nonprofits to address the needs of marginalized groups.

    • Social Integration: Facilitate social integration through sports and language education.

    Daily Tasks:

    • Support Local Centers: Prepare meals, manage facilities, and sort donations.

    • Teach Languages: Share your linguistic talents by teaching English or Spanish in a supportive environment.

    • Sports for Integration: Join sports teams focused on integrating young immigrants and refugees, or assist individuals battling addiction through engaging sports activities.

    Ready to Support Marginalized Communities?

    After the initial orientation day, you will have a morning, afternoon or evening shift at the Special Needs Support placement and will work for approximately 3 to 5 hours per day. 

    A typical schedule is as follows:

    07:00 - 10:00 a.m.: Breakfast at the volunteer accommodation

    10:00 a.m. :

    01:30 p.m.: Lunch is served at the accommodation.

    02:00 - 07:00 p.m.: 

    (1) Travel to the Community Support place to join the local staff and begin work on your project, or

    (2) Explore the city, relax, attend Spanish language lessons, or enroll in other activities if you have a morning project.

    08:00 - 10:00 p.m.: Dinner - you can have dinner at the accommodation's kitchen, or at one of the many restaurants that are around the accommodation

    Tjenester på stedet

    • Pick up at the international airport in Barcelona (when arrival is on the weekend) & public transportation transfer to the accommodation - Sunday 

      • On Sunday, the ImpacTrip team will be at the airport waiting for you with a big sign and a smile on their face! :)

      If you arrive prior to Sunday, you will still be able to receive an airport pickup, and our team can transport you to the accommodation, but you will need to pay an extra fee for this service.

      • Accommodation at a dormitory at a social hostel, female dormitory, or mixed dormitory with a private bathroom; bed sheets are provided
      • Two meals a day every day: Breakfast and dinner (Local style. Vegetarian, gluten-free, and meals for lactose-intolerant are also available upon request)
      • Shared use of the common room, outdoor area, and free WIFI
      • Orientation event on arrival (including an introduction to Spain and Spanish culture, volunteer experience, an overview of programs, practical information, and safety guidelines)
      • Responsible guided city tour

      • Allocation and coordination of a work placement in an impactful non-profit project
      • Introduction on the first day of volunteering

    Afhentning i lufthavnen i Barcelona-El Prat Airport

    On Sunday, the ImpacTrip team will be at the airport waiting for you with a big sign and a smile on their face! :)

    If you arrive prior to Sunday, you will still be able to receive an airport pickup, and our team can transport you to the accommodation, but you will need to pay an extra fee for this service.

    We will reach out to you by WhatsApp a few days before your start date to connect.

    Indkvartering

    You will be accommodated in a social hostel with a meaningful social mission in Barcelona. The Hostel has the capacity to accommodate up to 320 conscious travelers who want to visit Barcelona in a responsible way. There are various common areas such as the dining room, the living room, room balconies, and outside areas.  

    The hostel is in a neighborhood where you can find everything you need: a mall, local coffee shops, supermarkets, ATMs, a hospital, police, and most utilities you will need are just around the corner. The Hostel is 10 minutes walking from the metro stop and has many buses that can bring you to the city center in 1 hour.

    But what is really unique about it is its social concept. The hostel is actually a social business for a non-profit organization run in the same building. The non-profit develops a wide range of programs, campaigns, and activities for children and youth, their families, and third sector organizations.

    We will provide breakfast and dinner at the hostel every day. 

    The hostel restaurant offers meals every day for all volunteers in a very Spanish style, and they are prepared to accommodate most dietary restrictions, such as vegetarians, gluten-free, and lactose intolerant.
