    Make a meaningful difference on a Construction and Renovation project in the cultural heart of Bali, Indonesia. Ubud is a beautiful region surrounded by lush rice paddies, ancient temples, and a vibrant arts scene.

    You will directly support local communities by improving vital infrastructure for schools and community spaces. This is a fully-hosted experience that allows you to contribute to essential community development while exploring the island's unique culture.

    Your Role and Impact: The primary goal of this project is to fast-track the building and renovation of schools and community spaces, helping to improve infrastructure that has struggled to keep up with population growth. By rolling up your sleeves, you contribute to creating invaluable community spaces that serve low-income communities.

    You will work alongside local teams and may participate in various tasks, which can include bricklaying, carpentry, painting, gardening, landscaping, and tiling. You will be fully supported by qualified local staff. No previous experience is needed, but this project is ideal for physically active volunteers who don't mind getting their hands dirty and providing support wherever it is needed most.

    Program Details and Accommodation: This program offers a fully-hosted experience in a small village setting, giving you a chance to immerse yourself in traditional Balinese life. Accommodation is provided in a dormitory-style volunteer house located approximately 15 minutes' drive from central Ubud. Your Program Fee includes three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and transport to and from your project placement. This is an opportunity to gain teaching experience, meet fellow global travelers, and spend your weekends exploring temples, waterfalls, and the rich natural environment of Bali. The program is available year-round and offers a highly supported, impactful experience.

    • Arrival Day: Volunteers must arrive in Bali on the Sunday before their program orientation starts.

    • Orientation Start: The program orientation begins every Monday.

    • Arrival Airport: You should book your flights to arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport (DPS).

    • Airport Pick-up: Your airport pick-up is included in your Program Fee.

    • Arrival Process: Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by a member of the local team and taken directly to the volunteer accommodation.

    • Accommodation Coverage: Your program fee covers your accommodation, including the night before your program orientation.

    • Alternative Pick-up: If you are already in Bali prior to your program, arrangements can be made for you to be picked up in Ubud or Denpasar on the day before orientation.

    • Peak Season Note (June to September): Due to high demand during the period of June to September, the local team specifically requests that all volunteers arrive on Sundays for their airport pick-up.

    • Departure: This restriction also applies after the program, as check-out is on Saturday.

    • Under 18s: We recommend that volunteers under the age of 18 travel internationally with a notarized letter from their parents to support their documentation.

    Indkvartering

    You will be staying in a comfortable dormitory-style volunteer house located in a small village setting, approximately 15 minutes’ drive from central Ubud. This location offers a great opportunity to experience typical Balinese life and culture.

    • Bedrooms: You can expect to share a dormitory-style room with up to seven other volunteers. These bedrooms are separated by gender. Private room upgrades are available - you can request after you register.

    • Comfort: Living conditions are comfortable, and all bedrooms are equipped with fans.

    • Bathrooms: Bathrooms are shared and feature hot water showers and western toilets.

    • Common Areas: There is a large outdoor dining area where volunteers can socialize and enjoy their meals together.

    • Internet: WiFi is available at the volunteer accommodation. High-speed internet cafes are also available in central Ubud.

    • Security: Each volunteer house has a security guard on duty at night.

    • Curfew: A 10:30 PM curfew is observed every night at the volunteer accommodation. Volunteers are asked to be considerate and reduce noise after this time.

    • Typical Staples: Daily meals typically include staples such as rice, fresh vegetables, tempeh, and tofu
    • Indonesian Favorites: Popular Indonesian dishes frequently served include:
      • Nasi Goreng: Fried rice with vegetables and spices
      • Mie Goreng: Stir-fried noodles with vegetables
      • Gado-Gado: A hearty mix of vegetables topped with creamy peanut (satay) sauce
    • Variety: To add variety, meals follow a monthly rotating schedule, usually featuring Western-style meals twice a week
    • Breakfast: Breakfast options typically include pancakes, toast, cereal, eggs, fresh fruit, and traditional Balinese cakes

    • Weekdays: Meals are provided three times a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
    • Weekends: Breakfast and dinner are provided on weekends
    • Dining Out: If you wish to explore the local culinary scene, there are plenty of affordable and delicious restaurants within walking distance

    Drinks & Dietary Requirements:

    • Beverages: Coffee and tea are available throughout the day
    • Water: Purified drinking water is available, as tap water is not suitable for drinking. Bottled water is also easy to purchase and inexpensive throughout Bali
    • Dietary Needs: If you have any dietary requirements, including vegan, vegetarian, lactose, or gluten intolerance, you should notify the organization ahead of time so appropriate arrangements can be made
    • Flexibility: It is essential to remain flexible, as your provided meals may not align with your typical eating habits at home

    Programs start every Monday and are available year round.

    Arrival and Orientation:
    Designated Arrival Day: Sunday.

    Arrival Notes: Airport pick up is included as part of the fully hosted experience. Volunteers are met at the airport by a member of the local team and taken to their accommodation in Ubud. During busy periods, volunteers may be asked to arrive only on Sundays to ensure smooth transfers and accommodation arrangements.
    Orientation: A 1 day Orientation is included and typically begins on your selected Monday start date. This session covers an introduction to local staff, Balinese customs, safety guidelines, and program expectations.
