Dental students can support the
provision of dental care, participating in hygiene campaigns and healthcare
education. Interns will be placed in "Centros de Salud" or
Hospitals which provide both primary and basic emergency care to low-income
families.
The program
Our dental care programs need
volunteer with skills and passion for helping others! As dental health is often
one of the most critically underserved healthcare fields in Peru, there are
people who are in desperate need of your abilities.
In Peru, there are few opportunities
for adults and children to have access to dental care and oral hygiene
education. However, there are many great projects that are mobilizing skilled
volunteers to maintain smiles across Cusco.
Volunteer work
For dental or
pre-dental students, working abroad allows for an opportunity to
spread your valuable, skills and knowledge to a population that would not
usually have access to them. For dental or
pre-dental students, working abroad allows you to observe your
field in its most basic role and to help people.
Dental interns will be placed in
local dental clinics and work alongside a licensed dentist to gain experience
in practical techniques such as prophylaxis, sealants, restorations, and
extractions.
Opportunities may be available to
participate in outreach programs in schools and rural communities during the
intern's stay.
Volunteers will be given a level of
responsibility according to their level of training and expertise. Spanish
level and ability to take initiative.
Participating in this project you will need to bring their own materials to
develop dental cures and prophylaxis (it is mandatory).
- Conservation kits (x2)
- white medical jacket and Scrubs (to wear daily)
- Box of surgical gloves (x2)
- Dental composite resins (white filling B2)
- Box of surgical masks
** Prior to your arrival you may be
required to provide copies of your training and credentials.

for dental students or professional.
