    Eco Caminhos is a self-sustaining Eco Farm and international community located in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro. Our mission is to create a more sustainable and connected way of living through Permaculture, Agroforestry, Organic Farming and Bioconstruction.

    Eco Experience: Agroforestry & Bioconstruction

    This immersive eco tourism experience is designed for people who want to spend a few days living closer to nature while learning about agroforestry, natural building and sustainable community life through direct experience.

    Participants can stay from 1 to 7 days, joining the daily rhythm of the farm while enjoying a combination of hands-on learning, nature, relaxation and cultural exchange.

    One of the highlights of the experience is the possibility of staying in our Eco Lodge, a beautiful bioconstruction house immersed in nature with incredible views over the mountains and the farm.

    Location

    Located near Nova Friburgo, close to the Parque Estadual dos Três Picos, Eco Caminhos is surrounded by waterfalls, rivers, mountains and the biodiversity of the Atlantic Forest.

    The peaceful environment creates the perfect setting to disconnect from stress and reconnect with nature, simplicity and wellbeing.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Participants have the opportunity to experience the daily life of the farm through:

    • Hands-on agroforestry activities

    • Bioconstruction and natural building workshops

    • Permaculture and sustainability presentations

    • Organic farming and regenerative practices

    • Community activities and cultural exchange

    Participants can walk through our different agroforestry systems, explore some of the most advanced bioconstruction projects in Brazil and learn directly from the Eco Caminhos team and community.

    Activities vary depending on the duration of the stay, weather conditions and current projects happening at the farm.

    Free Time & Nature Activities

    Outside activities, participants can relax, explore waterfalls, hike in the mountains, join campfires and community evenings, or visit nearby areas around Nova Friburgo.

    Optional activities such as horseback riding, rafting, paragliding and personalized experiences may also be organized separately.

    Accommodation & Experience Options

    Participants can choose between different accommodation and experience formats, including simpler nature-based stays or more comfortable private options such as the Eco Lodge, a fully private luxury bioconstruction house.

    The experience can also be customized according to personal interests, including workshops, sustainability experiences, nature immersion or group activities.

    Community & Learning

    During the stay, participants interact with Brazilian and international volunteers, residents and coordinators, creating opportunities for cultural exchange, meaningful conversations and learning through community life.

    This experience is ideal for people seeking a deeper connection with nature, sustainability, regeneration and simpler ways of living.

    A typical day may look like this:

    • 7:00 AM – Breakfast & morning at the Eco Lodge or community spaces

    • 8:00 AM – Agroforestry, Bioconstruction or sustainability activities

    • 10:00 AM – Coffee break

    • 10:15 AM – Continue practical activities, workshops or farm tours

    • 12:00 PM – Homemade lunch & rest

    • 1:00 PM – Afternoon workshops, nature activities, waterfalls, hikes or free time

    • 5:00 PM – Relax, enjoy nature or community interaction

    • 7:00 PM – Dinner

    • 8:00 PM – Campfires, movie nights, cultural exchange or free time

    • 10:00 PM – Rest

    The experience combines learning, nature, relaxation and community immersion, allowing participants to experience the daily rhythm of a real regenerative eco farm.

    Eco Caminhos is located on the edge of the Parque Estadual dos Três Picos, within the Atlantic Forest ecosystem. The region is surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, forests, and beautiful landscapes, offering many opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, horseback riding, and nature exploration.

    During the week, we often organize community activities such as movie nights, game nights, campfires, shared dinners, and volunteer gatherings. These moments are a great way to relax, connect with others, and enjoy the community experience outside of work activities. From time to time, we also organize camping weekends and special group outings.

    Volunteers are free to spend their free time as they wish. Some activities organized by the community are free, while others with external costs, such as horseback riding or certain trips, require personal payment.

    You can also visit Nova Friburgo, the nearest city, either alone or with other volunteers. It is a calm and friendly mountain city with good infrastructure, shops, restaurants, markets, and cafés. A local bus stop is located about 500 meters from the farm, with buses running to the city several times a day.

    On weekends, many volunteers also choose to travel to Rio de Janeiro, which is approximately a 3-hour bus ride away, to explore beaches, cultural attractions, music, nightlife, and everything the city has to offer.

    • Farm Tour & Welcome Experience:
      Participants are welcomed by the Eco Caminhos team with a coffee or tea and an introduction to the farm, community and activities planned during the stay.

    • Agroforestry & Bioconstruction Activities:
      Participants can join practical activities related to agroforestry, permaculture, organic farming and natural building, gaining direct experience with the daily life of a regenerative eco farm.

    • Workshops & Presentations:
      The experience may include presentations and workshops about permaculture, agroforestry, sustainability and bioconstruction, depending on the current projects and activities happening at the farm.

    • Accommodation Options:
      Participants can choose between different accommodation options, including simpler nature-based stays or our Eco Lodge, a beautiful luxury bioconstruction house immersed in nature with incredible views over the farm and mountains.

    • Nature & Community Experience:
      The experience includes opportunities to enjoy waterfalls, mountain landscapes, campfires, community interaction and connection with Brazilian and international volunteers and residents.

    • Food:
      A homemade hot lunch prepared with organic ingredients from the farm is included from Monday to Friday. Organic vegetable baskets may also be requested in advance depending on availability.

    • Customized Experiences:
      Personalized workshops, sustainability experiences, private activities, consultations or customized programs may also be organized depending on the package selected.

    • Wi-Fi:
      Internet access is available in the accommodation areas.


      • NOT INCLUDED:

      • Airport Transfer: Airport transfer is not included in the program fee. However, we can connect you with our trusted local driver, who can pick you up at the airport and bring you directly to Eco Caminhos. Approximate cost: R$1000 per trip (around €170), depending on the airport and number of passengers.

      • Breakfast & Dinner:
        Breakfast and dinner are not included in the basic experience. Participants may use kitchen facilities depending on the accommodation option and are encouraged to bring or purchase additional ingredients.

      • External Activities:
        Optional activities such as horseback riding, rafting, paragliding or special regional tours may require additional personal expenses.

      • Personal Expenses:
        Personal shopping, snacks, transportation, hygiene products and additional services are not included.

    Participants can choose between different accommodation options depending on the type of experience they are looking for.

    Our accommodations are immersed in nature and designed to provide a more direct connection with the mountains, forests and community life of Eco Caminhos.

    Options may include:

    • Shared community accommodation
    • Eco Lodge luxury accommodation, a fully private bioconstruction house with beautiful views over the farm and surrounding mountains

    The accommodations include access to nature, Wi-Fi and common areas, while offering different levels of privacy and comfort.

    The Eco Lodge is fully insulated and designed for a more comfortable and immersive eco tourism experience, while the simpler accommodations provide a more rustic and community-oriented lifestyle closer to the daily rhythm of the farm.

    • Participants may also request organic vegetable baskets in advance depending on seasonal availability.
