    Imagine waking up in a small village surrounded by nature, spending your morning in a woodworking workshop or garden, sharing lunch with people from different countries, and ending the day together as the sun goes down.

    This is - Village.

    We are not simply looking for volunteers to complete tasks. We are looking for people who want to live, learn, create and share as part of a community.

    - Initiative has been working since 2014 to create spaces based on solidarity, empowerment and sustainable living. Today, - Village is one of these spaces — a place where volunteers, local people, disadvatages women and children come together to learn from each other and create something meaningful.

    🏡 Life at - Village

    Life is simple, communal and connected to nature.

    You may spend your morning working with wood, helping in the garden or improving a shared space. You may learn about sustainable technologies, create something with your hands, organize an activity with children, or bring your own skills and ideas to the village.

    We eat together, work together, learn from each other and share everyday life.

    Our activities change according to the season, the needs of the village and the interests and skills of our volunteers.

    🔨 Create

    Our wood workshop is one of the heartbeats of the village.

    Volunteers can help with woodworking, sanding, assembling and creating handcrafted wooden educational materials and other useful items. You don't need to be an experienced woodworker — curiosity and willingness to learn are more important.

    🌱 Grow

    We are developing our ecological and agricultural areas and continuously working on our relationship with the land.

    Depending on the season, volunteers may help with:

    gardening and planting
    soil and agricultural work
    permaculture activities
    composting
    maintaining ecological spaces
    developing new ideas for sustainable living

    ☀️ Learn

    - has a long-standing interest in renewable energy and practical sustainability.

    If you are interested in solar energy, sustainable technologies, construction, woodworking or ecological solutions, there are opportunities to learn and share knowledge with the community.

    🎨 Share Your Skills

    One of our favourite things about volunteers is that everyone brings something different.

    You might bring experience in:

    social media

    cooking
    gardening

    renewable energy
    crafts

    sports
    or something completely unexpected!

    If you have an idea for a small project or activity, tell us. We love when volunteers bring their own creativity to -.

    👩‍👧 Community Activities

    On weekends, disadvantages women and children from the communities we work with visit the village.

    Volunteers may support creative, educational and playful activities for children while women participate in workshops and community activities.

    These moments are an important part of the - experience: sharing food, playing, creating, talking and getting to know one another.

    We are always open to new ideas.

    If you are a photographer, filmmaker, artist, musician, designer, teacher, gardener, builder, cook, social media enthusiast — or simply someone with a good idea — tell us what you would like to create.

    We don't expect you to arrive with all the answers. We are interested in what we can create together.

    Helping at - also means taking part in everyday communal life:

    Tjenester på stedet

    The volunteer contribution is used exclusively to help cover the shared living costs of volunteers during their stay at İmece Village. It contributes to accommodation, three meals per day, electricity, hot water, internet, and other basic household and communal living expenses.

    As a non-profit organization, the contribution helps us maintain the shared facilities and provide a comfortable living environment for volunteers while allowing our resources to remain focused on our social programs for disadvantaged women and children.

    Personal expenses, transportation to and from Türkiye, travel insurance, visa costs, and personal activities are not included.

    Indkvartering

    Volunteers stay at İmece Village, our community and activity space located in a peaceful, natural area of İzmir. Accommodation is provided in shared volunteer rooms, creating a communal living experience where volunteers from different countries can live, cook, work, and spend time together.

    Rooms and bathroom facilities are shared. Some bathrooms and toilets are located within the volunteer accommodation areas, and an additional bathroom is also available outside. Hot water, electricity, and internet access are provided.

    The village has shared indoor and outdoor spaces, a kitchen, workshop areas, gardens, and common areas where volunteers can relax and socialize. As İmece Village is located in a rural area outside the city center, volunteers should be prepared for a simple, nature-based and community-oriented lifestyle rather than hotel-style accommodation.

    Basic shops, supermarkets, ATMs, pharmacies, and other services can be accessed in the surrounding urban areas of İzmir.

    Mad og drikkevarer

    Three meals per day — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — are provided during the volunteer stay at İmece Village. Meals are generally simple, homemade, and based on local Turkish and Mediterranean-style food.

    Vegetarian options are available, and our communal kitchen can also be used by volunteers. As community life is an important part of the İmece experience, volunteers may sometimes cook and prepare meals together, and international volunteers are always welcome to share dishes from their own cultures.

    Drinking water, tea, and basic everyday beverages are available. If you have allergies, intolerances, or specific dietary requirements, please let us know before your arrival so we can discuss what can reasonably be accommodated.❤️
