Marine Conservation Diving in Sodwana Bay
Højdepunkter
- Nervous about traveling alone? You won't be for long. Our small, close-knit program means you'll have a built-in crew within days, not weeks.
- Dive a UNESCO World Heritage reef and help run the only nudibranch research program of its kind: real science, not just sightseeing.
- Airport transfers, meals, gear, diving, excursions: it's all included. Just show up and dive in, literally everything else is handled.
- Run by two passionate locals (not a faceless agency), with 24/7 on-site support and a local zoologist teaching you the marine world.
- Untouched beaches, hidden lakes, sunset spots, and reefs most divers never see. This isn't a dive trip, it's a whole way of life.

We pile onto the back of a bakkie (a pick-up truck, for the non-South Africans) and drive through coastal forest to reach the beach. Once we're kitted up, we launch through the waves on a Zodiac boat out to our ...
Fritidsaktiviteter
Diving's only half the story. Sodwana moves slow, in the best way, but when you're after something to do, there's plenty on offer. Here's a taste of how volunteers spend their downtime:
- Doing absolutely nothing on the beach (highly recommended)
- Freediving when scuba just isn't enough
- Browsing the local ...

Oplysninger ved ankomst
Our program starts every Friday. If Friday doesn't suit your schedule, we're happy to arrange transfers on other days where needed, though this may come at an extra cost.
The nearest international airport is OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg (JNB). From there, you'll take a short domestic flight to Richards Bay Airport (RBZ), our nearest airport to Sodwana Bay. One of our drivers will meet you at Richards Bay and take you on the final stretch of the journey to camp.
Please book either a morning or afternoon flight into Richards Bay, as we're unable to do airport transfers after 3pm unless absolutely necessary.
