    About the role

    Join an award-winning program and take real responsibility inside a self-sustaining NGO that funds its mission through safaris and eco-products. Choose from two tracks — marketing & communications, or NGO management & development — with daily supervisor support.

    What you'll do

    • Digital marketing: content strategy, copywriting and campaigns
    • Improve SEO and the website
    • Run social media across AIT's channels (50,000+ followers)
    • Promote placements, internships, safaris and tours
    • NGO management & development: staff training, entrepreneurship, partnerships and sustainability

    Typisk dag

    Standard working hours are from 9 AM to 1630 PM, but we may have seminars and meetings in the evening and at weekends. The nature of the work is to follow the target groups' availability.

    Standard working hours are from 9 AM to 1630 PM, but we may have seminars and meetings in the evening and at weekends. The nature of the work is to follow the target groups' availability.


    The participant will develop human rights materials to study the present legislation and changes in the bill. Some rights issues, such as LGBT rights, are sensitive in Africa and must be addressed accordingly. 

    Much of the work involves advocating for the implementation of the present human rights laws. The general public does not necessarily know their rights, and we support vulnerable groups such as women, children, and disabled people. You will use existing toolkits for seminars, develop them, and create new ones.

    Much time will be spent on visibility. For example, Facebook is a great tool for reaching Tanzanians. Art in Tanzania's Facebook page has 38k likes, and we can reach tens of thousands of Tanzanians.

    Patient and open-minded in facing developing-country conditions. This program offers opportunities for participants of different backgrounds and experiences. Younger participants can engage in practical groundwork in a tree nursery and in planting, while more experienced participants can take on more complex community tasks with corporate programs.

    The fee includes accommodation, breakfast, dinner, program guidance with orientation, 24-hour staff presence, and academic graduate team leaders for all programs.

    The actual program is free of charge. You may have small local transfer costs. 

    The cost does not include international flights, local transfers, charity visa, or personal purchases.

    Indkvartering

    Our eco-compound in Madale Village in the Dar es Salaam area has dorms, single, double and family rooms. As an eco-compound, we use our flush toilets with biograde septic tanks; we collect shower water and use it as "grey water" for our tropical garden irrigation. This compound is in Madale village, so it is a countryside place but a short distance from the city.

    We charge accommodation with breakfast and dinner only.

    We include breakfast and dinner in the lodging cost at our compound. Lunches are not included because most participants are out of the compound during the day. Local places to eat around your placement are low-cost.

    All drinks are at your own cost. Drinking water is available everywhere at a low price. We also run a compound bar, so you can easily access drinks and snacks.
