    Om programmet

This program is very much important because it aims at empowering the children especially the girl child, the women and the entire community to be self reliant and productive using the locally available materials to make local handcraft that can be sold within the country and the entire world. The main social problem faced by our communities especially the girl child and mothers in general is lack of a self sustaining source of income that may result into being involved in bad acts in the society. The only way to solve that problem is to empower them with skills that can enable them become productive and self reliant not to entirely depend on men for their well being own other domestic basic needs. The program is mainly about training the teachers, students, children, women and the entire community in art, design and crafts using the locally available resources in the area like raffia and dry banana leaves .
The tasks undertaken will depend on their level of experience and qualifications. Volunteers may include, but are not limited to:The role of the volunteers will be training teachers, students and community members at the Mmanze Community in different art, design  and craft,  especially those are locally made using our local materials.Volunteers can also organize tradings for the community concerning marketing and promotion of their products.Volunteers also expect to learn from us our social cultural beliefs and practices, our taboos ,totems and clans, our songs, our local art and designs, our our local language.Volunteers do not need to bring any special equipment to train our people because this type of art and designs is mainly done using our hands. However,if they have any special equipment that they may to come with,it’s welcome
Vol  are accommodated with host families in order to learn our social cultural beliefs and practices.Program fees is used for airport pickup and drop back ,feeding and accommodation.Program fees is paid through western union money transfer system before arrival.50% of the fees is used to buy the training materials like raffia and dye.

During the week we organize a variety of activities for volunteers in the evenings.  We often play football (soccer), cards and board games or chill out around the bar or go out for a dance getting to know fellow volunteers from around the world.
