Welcome to your new adventure at NATUWA Sanctuary, where our veterinary interns are welcomed with open arms and given the flexibility to start their journey in wildlife conservation on the date that best suits them—whether during the lush green season or the vibrant sunny months.
Arrival by Our Transportation Service
🚐 Private Airport Transfer – $160
We offer a direct and comfortable transfer service from Juan Santamaría International Airport (San José) or Liberia International Airport for a stress-free transition from plane to sanctuary. This service is available at any hour, ensuring a smooth arrival experience.
Arrival by Public Bus
🚌 Eco-Friendly Travel Option
For those seeking a more adventurous route, we welcome public bus travelers between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Upon booking, we provide detailed transportation guidance, including bus schedules, routes, and fare estimates,, to ensure a seamless journey.
Accommodation Options
🏡 Standard Lodging – Included in the Program
All interns are accommodated in shared dormitory-style rooms, which foster a communal spirit while immersing them in Natuwa's natural beauty.
✨ Private Comfort Room – $125 per night per person (Optional Upgrade)
For those seeking extra privacy and comfort, we offer a Private Comfort Room, which includes:
✅ A private room for personal space and relaxation
✅ Air conditioning (A/C) for maximum comfort
✅ Hot water shower for added convenience
✅ Private bathroom

• All reservations and payments must be processed exclusively through the Volunteer World platform to ensure transparency and proper handling of fees.
• Since Volunteer World currently displays only standard accommodation pricing, volunteers interested in upgrading should select the standard option when booking. Once we receive your request, we will manually adjust the final price before you complete payment.
• If you wish to upgrade after arrival, please inform our staff, and we will guide you through the necessary steps within the platform.
