Our projects aim to reduce poverty and inequalities, through education and sustainable strategies focused on ethical volunteering and social well-being.
OUR HISTORY
Volunteer Vietnam was founded in 2004 by Viet Dang. During the Vietnam War, Viet has lost his father and had to live in an orphanage. He was lucky as his mother was alive and took him out of the orphanage and supported him until he became a teacher of English. He had a chance to work with international many volunteers to teach English the underprivileged children in Vietnam. He is extremely impressed about the volunteers` spirit, passion and kindness to Vietnamese people and the great impact of volunteer programs on local communities in need in Vietnam. He decided to set up a volunteer program which international volunteers come and help improve the quality of life for the disadvantaged in Vietnam. The program quickly became popular and has been expanding to provide supports to around 1,000 disadvantaged in Vietnam at present.
WHAT WE DO
Our mission is to connect people with local communities in need in Vietnam. We do this by placing volunteers to help at orphanages, social support centers and disadvantaged schools in Central Vietnam.
Volunteers are needed to assist with our staff team to provide physiotherapy, OT, childcare, English teaching and improvement activities for old people, disabled people and underprivileged children.
