Support low-income and vulnerable women & children to overcome difficult situations by giving them tools through education to improve their quality of life in India. Volunteers in rural villages work as a tutor and teach local children who can't afford good education due to their economic situation. The variety of activities offered to assists the children’s holistic growth, allowing them to learn and express themselves in relaxed environments. The children & women's love spending time with international volunteers who can teach them about the outside world and whether you’re teaching basic English, art, drama, reading, writing, or speaking they will be full of questions, and will love to hear stories and facts about your home country.
Volunteers work on grass roots projects which naturally involve daily exposure to Indian customs and traditions, this is a great way to learn about Indian culture first hand through direct involvements and the fact you are coming to offer assistance ensures you will be warmly welcomed into the community.
Volunteers typically work from Monday to Friday for a total of four to five hours per day, on two or three different placements.Volunteers work two hours in the morning at one placement and two hours after lunch at another placement. You will have time for taking breaks in between for lunch, chai and lesson preparation at the iSpiice volunteer house.
