Since many beaches and mountains are not yet adequately protected from an environmental point of view, the support of volunteers is required. With your volunteer work in this project, you make a significant contribution to the preservation of ecosystems and marine and environmental life. Information, awareness and educational work towards people to take an active role in change and to be more aware of what each of us can contribute so that the environmental impact is one of the significant tasks of this program.

The objective of this project is to improve the quality of sea water, collecting kilos/pounds of garbage from beaches and/or mountains, protect natural and marine ecosystems, preserve places for surfers, pedestrians and hikers, educate people about pollution and what each of us can do to improve and eradicate pollution with our actions and leave a clean planet for future generations.

Typical day

During the first 2 weeks, you take Spanish courses in the mornings from 9.30 to 13.30. In the afternoons you participate in the volunteer activity doing something significant for the environment, contributing yourself for a better world. This is usually from 2-6 p.m. We also offer program cultural activities during the week such as excursions, salsa lessons, tapas tours etc and you can join us for free.

Sectors of the beach and mountains are cleaned in specific bags for recycling. It is recommended to bring gloves and specific material including raincoats. You work 20 hours a week maximum and the metro ride is not included (around 10€ per week).

Free-time activities

During weekdays we organize free leisure and cultural activities such as salsa lessons, wine tasting, excursions, tapas tours or visits to museums. All of them are free of charge for our volunteers.

At weekends students can also enjoy their passions such as hiking, surfing or going to a winery. The area is full of potential activities to enjoy beaches and mountains.  You can also enjoy the astonishing areas where some of the chapters of game of thrones was played. Be sure that Saint James walk is also going through Bilbao. To sum up, a place where you can not get bored.
