Make a child smile! Give back to society by supporting a Child Care Project in Chile. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+

Take on responsibility and support child care projects in Chile. Help children from poor and underprevileged families. If you decide to volunteer with children or teenagers, you can choose between different projects and institutions.

• Children or teenagers in day care centers or kindergarten
• Children with special needs / Teenagers with criminal backgrounds
• Children with disabilities
• Children's homes

Often public institutions in Chile lack financial resources. Children's homes, day care centers or similar institutions deals with too little staff or funds and are dependent on the help of volunteers. Especially sad is the number of children who have to grow up without parents because the families have rejected them, their parents have died, disappeared, or are in jail or simply do not fulfill their parental duties of care. If the homes did not exist, these children would stay unattended or end up in the streets.

Typical day

Special knowledge in working with children is not required. However, you should be able to take on responsibilities and work independently. Do not forget that you have a role model and you need to be aware of your responsibilities.

Volunteer activities vary depending on the choice of facility and the needs of the children. Below are examples of possible tasks:

• Supporting nursing staff in their daily tasks
• Supervising the children and adolescents
• Giving instructions for playing together, singing, creative crafts, painting, etc.
• Planning special project work (creating a vegetable garden, improving play equipment etc.)
• Help in the home household (cooking, feeding the little ones, rinsing, etc.)
• Organizing leisure activities
• Tutoring and homework assistance
