Our children’s development program is one of the major activities in our integrated community approach supported by our full time staff and volunteers. The aim of the program is to protect the right of all children in the community by providing access to a basic, quality education, developing their life skills, and providing access to health services through our community health program.

For children, the goal of children development program is to help schools become communities in which they feel cared for and learn to care in return – communities in which they are helped to develop the practical skills needed to function productively in society, and the ethical and intellectual understanding needed to function humanely and wisely. For teachers, the goal of children development program is to help schools become respectful and inclusive communities that support their continued learning and provide opportunities for them to collaborate with one another and to contribute to decisions.

Typical tasks of a volunteer

  • Assist local teachers.
  • Teach children motor and kinesthetic skills.
  • Play games and rhymes with children.
  • Supervise supports activities.
  • Provide childcare support.
  • Create teaching/learning resources.
  • Organize student excursions.

NVDP now supports over 14 early childhood education centers in schools and communities in impoverished Nepalese communities.

Typical day

Nepal is the very beautiful country many volunteer and travelers are interested to visit in Nepal. Such as Volunteers can do the  community work in the local community in Nepal. Volunteers are stay in host families during their stay they can help to the family their regular work like traditional cooking ( rice, lentil and vegetable), vegetable garden work feeding the vegetable plant and many thing to do. Either the volunteer have free time they will visit the museum, national park, cultural show in the local community etc...

Free-time activities

Trekking in Nepal is one of the most wonderful adventure in Nepal, as it is rich country of an exceptional bio diversity and a beautiful natural environment. Adventure scenic mountains panorma, trans Himalayan region of Nepal beautiful landscape and manangis people and as well as their life style. Trekking adventure through the Himalayan treks is a once lifetime experience. The Jungle safari and wildlife is also amazing adventure in Nepal. The tropical jungle of the tarai preserve some of the best wildlife habitat in the subcontinent. The outdoor adventure sports into the wilderness to see wild animals, birds, and natural beauty. You ride on an elephant back or on a four wheeler jeep accompanied by a fully trained guide (naturalist) to view the nature and wild animals. From a tourist hub of view, Chitwan, Bardia and Koshi tappu are the most popular national park for wildlife safari in Nepal.



In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Airport Pickup at Tribhuvan International Airport

We provide also airport service by personal vehicle, Airport pick up and drop off and also we provide transportation to our project pick up and drop off.


During your training time in Kathmandu we have to give you private room with attach bathroom at our hostel. But do not expect luxurious room at your project site. Room is very nice in the community village, There is local host family the volunteers are stay with them. There is simple room with bed. And bathroom is common volunteers have to share their toilet and bathroom.

Food & Beverages

Breakfast occurs at 8:00 am and consists of a cup of tea and biscuits or pop corn. Lunch is served at 11:30 am and is usually dal/bhat (rice, lentils, and vegetables). Dinner is at 7:30 to 8:00 pm and is once more Dal/Bhat. The food is very simple but also extremely tasty and filling. Additional food such as cookies can be bought at the local shop if you should still be hungry.

Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu. We assist you to find cheap flights to Nepal.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Nepal provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Nepal you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Nepal.

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with NVDP during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
