    About the program

As a Community Research & Solutions Development Volunteer with TANF Ghana, you will support meaningful community-based research aimed at identifying challenges, exploring opportunities, and developing practical solutions that can create long-term impact. This program is ideal for volunteers who are interested in research, development, innovation, community engagement, and problem-solving.

Volunteers will work closely with TANF Ghana to gather information through field visits, interviews, observations, and community engagement activities. Depending on the focus of the research at the time, you may explore issues related to education, healthcare, youth empowerment, livelihoods, local governance, women’s empowerment, sanitation, tourism, or social development.

The goal of this placement is not only to understand community needs, but also to help turn research findings into practical recommendations, project ideas, reports, and concept notes that TANF Ghana can later share with NGOs, institutions, development partners, businesses, or government agencies for possible collaboration, support, or implementation.

As part of the program, volunteers may assist with data collection, community needs assessments, stakeholder engagement, report writing, proposal development, and the preparation of presentations or solution briefs. This gives volunteers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in applied research, project development, social impact planning, and community-driven innovation while working in a real-world development setting in Ghana.

This is a meaningful opportunity for students, graduates, and professionals who want to use their skills to support practical change, contribute ideas that matter, and help shape projects that can benefit communities beyond the volunteer placement itself.
