For volunteers who love working with their hands, the construction program in India is perfect while helping keep in good shape schools, community centers, hospitals, and other structures that are of benefit to the community. While volunteers work in a community project in construction they also can enjoy the city of Jaipur and experience real life in India and the north Indian State of Rajasthan.  The city is surrounded by hills and impressive buildings that represented forts.  Jaipur was established by the then Maharaja, Sawai Jai Singh in the year 1927. The graceful architecture of the City that runs across in pink color has earned Jaipur the title of "The Pink City".

Volunteers coming to this program must be somewhat physically fit as the project involves standing up most of the day and manual labor.

Volunteer Tasks:
  • Assessing and planning new projects.
  • Whitewashing walls.
  • General maintenance tasks such as plumbing, simple electric installation.
  • Painting walls, murals, and creating educational content in walls.
  • Construction of community toilets in rural areas.
  • Repair and maintenance of low-income housing.
  • Construction of drainage and maintenance.

Typical day

7 am breakfast
8:30 am project starts
1 pm break for lunch
4 pm project ends for the day
7pm dinner with host family or in volunteer guesthouse

A well-known Indian City, Jaipur was established by the then Maharaja, Sawai Jai Singh in the year 1927.  The graceful architecture of the City that runs across in pink color has earned Jaipur the title of "The Pink City". Jaipur is predominantly known for its musicians, artisans, and craftsmen. This majestic city is now visited by many people for its fine jewelry, beautiful textiles, and yummy cuisine.  

Volunteers can do different activities since exploring the great and nice city, tours in bicycle, learning dancing, enjoying the impressive architecture of important buildings, experience the tuk-tuks and many other activities that are offered in the place.

Require­ments

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.
Language Skills
You need to speak English (basic level)
Required Documents
Application form, CV, Copy of passport, Travel health insurance information and
Nationality Restrictions
No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome.
Other Skills
Volunteers must be flexible and technical skills are a plus to work on this project.
Time Commitment
Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
Flight Tickets
The nearest airport is Jaipur Airport (JAI) in Jaipur. We assist you to find cheap flights to India.
Travel Insurance
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for India provides security and is a plus to have.
Vaccines
If you are intending to volunteer in India you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for India.

We recommend that you arrive at Jaipur on any Saturday, in time for Sunday's orientation. Work begins every Monday where you will be introduced to your project and tasks.

Deposit (15%)
The deposit is simply to reserve your volunteer placement. Payments are handled by PayPal, our trusted global payment provider. If you don't have a PayPal account, you can also pay using a credit card.
Final Payment (85%)
Your final payment will be agreed with Integrated Learning Experience during the application process. Common solutions are either via bank transfer or a cash payment at the project site.
