Sustainable Bolivia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the Bolivian Amazon that partners with local initiatives to provides resources that support ecotourism, regenerative agriculture, health and education. Volunteers and interns are placed with partner NGOs throughout the country, namely in and around Riberalta, Bolivia.
As a volunteer, you have an important role to play in many of the childcare centers, and special needs centers we work with in Riberalta. Whatever your age, skills, experience or level of Spanish, you can make a positive contribution to the lives of children. We welcome volunteers who are on a vacation, career break, gap year, or retired. We only ask for your enthusiasm and commitment towards the project you are going to work on.
Bolivia is one of the least developed countries in Latin America. Orphanages, daycares and care centers lack funding, are often understaff which is why you have a crucial role to play. Volunteers work together with our partner: you can share ideas, come up with educational activities, while being involved in the daily activities of the center with the children and young adults. At some of the centers there is also a need for help with building and fixing up garden areas, buildings, and playgrounds.
SB has several partners in the sector of education, all located in Riberalta. They are looking for someone who can help with cooking healthy meals for the children.

In their free time, volunteers can enjoy a lot of activities around Riberalta such as enjoying the nature of the Amazon (tours, trekking) and the animals, enjoying the rivers (boat tours) or the swimming pools close-by. It is also very easy to go to Brazil where you there is a lot of amenities for shopping.
