The project
The Creative Arts project is based in schools in Kumasi, Cape Coast and Accra. The Ghana Education Service have recently included arts as part of the curriculum at the basic schools to build the creativity of pupil before they get to the Junior High school and since is a new to our education system, there is a lack of creative art teacher and there is the desperate need for volunteers to help staff teach the subject. When school is not in section the project is carried out at the orphanage homes as an after school program.
Volunteers will assist children to develop their cognitive abilities through creative methods using constructive materials, paints, clay and drawing. They will also help to keep the classroom clean, teach basic English and report on daily activities to local teachers. In addition to creative arts lessons, volunteers can spend time assisting the teachers in other subjects.
This is a great program for creative volunteers as they will have the opportunity to design and implement recreational and educational activities for the children. We encourage volunteers to use their skills and interests to develop fun things for the children to do such as music and dance, arts and crafts, etc.
Though
there is a curriculum to follow, volunteers are allow to also teach any
creative subject or activity that will be helpful that they know.
Resources
are limited so donations from volunteers are greatly appreciated. This
is important for those volunteers who are designing activities that
might be new and need a lot of materials

Volunteers have the weekend to explore the 10 regions of Ghana. Each region has its unique culture and tourist sites. Volunteers are advice to read more about Ghana's tourist sites to help them have a fair idea of where their interest will be.
We help volunteers to choose tourist sites and give advice on safety check, accommodation and recommend tour guide if the need be. There is a monkey sanctuary, mole safari ride, waterfalls, open street market, museum etc that volunteers can visit.
During the week days too, volunteers can go to the shopping and market centers after volunteer duties ends before dinner.
Our main focus as an organization is to support girls education.
Volunteer fees therefore help us to put girls through school at
different levels.
Our representative will be at the airport arrival hall with a sheet of paper with your name on. If you arrive in the morning or late morning he will drive you straight to your placement location but if volunteer arrives late evening, our staff will take the volunteer to a hostel facility to spend the night. (cost for the hotel not include in fee)
