This is an in-country shadowing program with provided shared housing and local team support.
Interns will have the opportunity to shadow, assist and learn from experts in their art and participate in their daily routine, including on-site work. The nature of this internship varies along with the artists work and may include Marble Sculpting, Micromosaics, Painting, Ceramics, Calligraphy, Jewelry, Ecclesiastic Iconography/Frescoes and Art Preservation/Conservation. Interns may be asked to assist in tasks such as material preparation, learn to use tools/techniques and admin work in galleries. The program is designed to rotate through different artists and can be customized according to the intern’s area of interest. The team is mostly trained or worked abroad in the UK or USA, eliminating any language barriers and offering international expertise.
Your day will begin at 9am following your coordinator to his day-to-day activities and community projects. Expect to end your shadowing each day at around 4-5pm depending on the daily tasks.
The placement takes place inside the vibrant city of Athens where many cultural events and activities take place. You have the chance to explore the historical sites of Athens or spent time at beaches around it. During your weekends you can travel to nearby cities, towns or take the ferry to one of the hundreds of picturesque islands.
We will review your application and if we accept you on this internship we will ask for you to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure your place. The remaining of your internship fees (less your initial deposit payment) will be due no less than 30 days before your internship start date.
