Highlights

Bring your energy, creativity and encouraging nature to assist at local schools in Thailand
Teach kids from 2.5 to 18 years old in a beautiful beach region
Increase your skills as a teacher by teaching the children on your own or with another volunteer
Teach basic grammer, prounciation, reading and writing
On this program you will teach English to students in various local, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools aged 2.5 to 18. This volunteer program is especially suitable for:
Age 18+
Singles
Couples
Families
50+
On this program you will teach English to students in various local schools. Our local team have strong relationships with several child development centres, kindergarten, primary and secondary schools and the age of the students may be anywhere from 2.5 years to 18 years of age.

The teachers and schools are fairly open to different approaches to teaching, allowing you to be creative and teach in your own style. You will be able to share your own ideas, concepts and approaches to teaching, and interact with the local teachers, to combine methods.
Many of the local teachers are not fluent in English, so you being able to not only teach the children, but also interact with the other teachers is a fantastic opportunity for them to pick up the English language. This project can greatly benefit the children in being confident speaking English and talking to foreigners, as well as providing greater opportunities for them in later life. You will also gain an insight into the Thai education system, as well as having the chance for a cultural exchange with the staff at the school.

Location
Hua Hin, is a lively fisherman-town and popular tourist spot these days offering all the standard beach stuff like snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing and with plenty of restaurants and tourist things like spas, water park, golf, shops and markets. There is a mountain at the end of the beach called Khoa Tekiab, with a temple that overlooks the beach. Surrounded by national parks, it’s a mountainous region where you can explore waterfalls and caves on various adventures. Buddhism is very prominent here and you will certainly get a good taste of the Buddhist way of life.

Typical day

Monday to Friday:
  • Breakfast at volunteer house
  • Leave for project between 08:33 and 09:33, depending on the school.
  • Teaching for 2-3 hours
  • Lunch is usually served at the school
  • Leave school each day after the morning session.
  • The school shows respect to the King of Thailand through a ceremony daily and you might be asked to take part in this unique morning ritual.
  • Enjoy the local beach or other sites in the afternoon.
  • Dinner at volunteer house
*Please take note of the long holidays (mid-March till mid-May and October) as well as public holidays. During such times you can join special classes and English camps that are regularly requested by the local community. If this is at a kindergarten, please keep in mind that you will be working with young children who will require a much different approach than primary or secondary school. Please use your creative skills through song, dance, games, and repetition to help young children to learn and enjoy their introduction to basic educational concepts.
