ALSO IT IS HOME TO FAMOUS MOUNTAINS OF THE WORLD

Mansiri Himal is a small, high subrange of the Himalayas in north-central Nepal, about 100 km (62 mi) northwest of Kathmandu.  The Mansiri range is notable for its local relief. It rises 7,000 m (23,000 ft) above the Marsyangdi valley floor in less than 30 km (19 mi) horizontal distance. The Mansiri range is also known as Manaslu Himal or the Gurkha Massif. It contains these peaks among Earth's twenty highest (with at least 500m topographic prominence):

    I) Manaslu, 8,156 m (26,759 ft), 8th highest

Manaslu is the eighth-highest mountain in the world at 8,163 metres (26,781 ft) above sea level.  Manaslu means "mountain of the spirit" and the word is derived from the Sanskrit word manasa, meaning "intellect" or "soul". Manaslu was first climbed on May 9, 1956, by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu, members of a Japanese expedition. It is said that, given the many unsuccessful attempts by the British to climb Everest before Nepali Tenzing Norgay and New Zealander Edmund Hillary, "just as the British consider Everest their mountain, Manaslu has always been a Japanese mountain".

    ll) Himalchuli, 7,893 m (25,896 ft), 18th highest

Himalchuli (also sometimes written as two words, Himal Chuli) is the second-highest mountain in the Mansiri Himal, part of the Nepalese Himalayas, and the 18th-highest mountain in the world . It lies south of Manaslu, one of the eight-thousanders. Himalchuli has three main peaks: East (7,893 m (25,896 ft)), West (7,540 m (24,740 ft)) and North (7,371 m (24,183 ft)).

    lll) Ngadi Chuli, 7,871 m (25,823 ft), 20th highest

Ngadi Chuli (also known as Peak 29, Dakura, Dakum, or Dunapurna) is a mountain in the Mansiri Himal (or Manaslu Himal), also known as the Gurkha Massif, in Nepal. With an elevation of 7,871 metres (25,823 ft) above sea level, it is the 20th-highest mountain on Earth. Despite its top 20 height, Ngadi Chuli has only been climbed once or twice.  The first confirmed ascent was in 1979 by the Polish climbers Ryszard Gajewski and Maciej Pawlikowski via the West buttress, involving some class V rock climbing at great height.
