Details on arrival
Arrival day is on Monday.
Upon arrival at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, you'll be warmly welcomed by a member of our local team and transferred to the wayers Home. Once you arrive, you'll get a tour of your new home, see your room and meet your fellow volunteers.
Your orientation briefing begins on Tuesday morning. You'll meet the whole team and they'll explain everything you need to know about your stay, including local customs, important rules, your volunteer project, how to get there, and practical information about your time in Ghana. They'll also share useful tips on nearby supermarkets, the best beaches, ATMs and how to get around Accra.
Afterwards, you'll head out with a member of our team to discover the city. Your first introduction to Accra includes a visit to the local market and a drumming workshop, giving you your first taste of Ghanaian culture and everyday life.
By Wednesday, you'll be ready to start your volunteer project. You'll already know what to expect and how to get there, so you can begin your first day with the local team, teachers and kids.
