About the program

During this volunteer program in the Philippines, you will participate in the daily operations of a child care center. This will not only give you a taste of authentic Filipino life, but will also involve you in the daily operations of the kindergarten. The kindergarten is located in the Tigman area of Palawan and the children attending are between the ages of 3-5 years old.

Your main task will be to communicate with the children using English and teaching them the language in a fun way.

Besides teaching, you will also support the local staff with the care of the children. This task can vary in activities, from organizing classes, playing games and guiding activities to feeding, nail clipping, hair styling, etc.

Children are always interested in learning more about foreign lands and we encourage you to bring pictures of your country, friends, relatives, etc. or objects that highlight your culture to promote intercultural exchange.

The children will learn from you, but you will also leave the project having learned from them!

Throughout the morning each volunteer contributes to the assigned task. A stop is made for lunch and, depending on the needs, tasks are continued or free time is available.

The volunteer may visit nearby areas in his or her free time. In the evening, the group has dinner and prepares for the next day.

Free-time activities

Enjoy in your free time the wonderful country that is the Philippines. You are in a wonderful location, surrounded by nature and picturesque places.

Since weekends are free, you can go wherever you want. Several popular destinations you can reach are:

PUERTO PRINCESA SUBWAY RIVER NATIONAL PARK.

Puerto Princesa Underground River National Park is located in the island of Palawan. This park mixes a limestone karst landscape with a subway river. One of the characteristics of the river is that it flows directly into the sea, and in its lower part it is influenced by the tides. The site is one of the most important rainforests in Asia.

The park covers 5753 hectares and is home to eleven different ecosystems, from a mountain rainforest to the ocean with reefs. There is also a great variety of endemic endangered animals, including the pheasant, fox bat, otter, etc.

It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. It was also declared one of the seven wonders of the world on November 11, 2011.

THE ISLAND OF 'EL NIDO' IN PALAWAN

El Nido' is located in Palawan, one of the islands that you must visit in the Philippines on your trip. There, besides visiting El Nido you can go to Port Barton and make an excursion to Coron, another of Palawan's paradises.

'El Nido' is touristy and, especially in high season, there are a lot of people. Although it is true that the landscapes you will see in El Nido are different from those of other islands.

PUERTO GALERA IN MINDORO

On the island of Mindoro is Puerto Galera, a place famous for its history. This is where the old Spanish ships arrived in colonial times. In the old days, the sailors of the world knew this port because it was the entry point to the island. Therefore, it became the gateway to the Southeast Asian trade routes.

Today, Puerto Galera is still an impressive place, inviting you to enjoy one of the most imposing islands in the Philippines. Tourists, photographers and diving experts come here every day to admire the immense wonders of the place.

In 1974 the UN declared Puerto Galera a Marine Reserve. For this reason and for the amount of underwater fauna and flora that can be admired here, it has become one of the cradles of diving at international level. If you are passionate about underwater sports, in Puerto Galera you have an endless number of spots where you can practice diving throughout the year.

SANCTUARY OF THE DIVINE MERCY

The Divine Mercy Shrine is a religious complex and Catholic monument in El Salvador, Misamis Oriental, in the Asian country of the Philippines. It features a 15.24-meter statue of Jesus and the Divine Mercy as the focal point of the Divine Mercy Hills, an area overlooking Macajalar Bay on the southern island of Mindano.

The nine-hectare land for the shrine was purchased for a nominal amount and the complex was financed by donations. The shrine was completed in 2008 and serves as a place of pilgrimage for Catholic devotees of the Divine Mercy.

Meet your organization

ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER is a non-profit organization, established in 2017. We collaborate in the social and environmental field through projects of conservation and protection of the environment and animals, as well as in the social part through projects of empowerment of women, community development, functional diversity, medical or teaching.

Our team of collaborators has a deep experience in international volunteer programs.  We know all the realities of the areas where we are working, collaborating and where we have a presence.

Our projects offer volunteers the opportunity to meet, share and participate in social and environmental projects. These projects demand educational and recreational activities that benefit communities of different cultures and customs, communities with economic difficulties and different degrees of social exclusion.
