The team is made-up by professional marine specialists & volunteers that participate in international marine conservation & educational projects around Europe, eliminating any language barriers and offering international expertise. This internship requires self-motivation and self-guided work.

This program is important because together we will:

  • Study the populations of endangered marine mammals in their natural habitat.
  • Raise public awareness and educate our fellow citizens and their children through environmental games and presentations.
  • Participate in events and festivals that aim to raise public awareness of environmental issues.
  • Monitor the effects of human activity in the ecosystem

Most of the activities are focused on practical conservation field work but may include office-based tasks too. Typical tasks are: data acquisition on marine species, water quality and coastal biodiversity, surveying, human impact studies, environmental policies, GIS and remote sensing, awareness campaigns, wildlife photography and video, graphic design,

Our marine conservation internship program offers the opportunity to gain top quality experience interning on the marine conservation organization. With valuable experience, you’ll develop your skills and understanding of different conservation aspects.

During the internship at Lipsi island the institute will offer daily meals for free (breakfast supplies and lunch/dinner cooked by the in-house chef).
