About the program

In this program, volunteers will be using and improving their scuba diving skills while actively restoring the natural state of Europe's largest National Marine Park. Here dolphins, turtles, and falcons thrive and the endangered Mediterranean monk seal finds sanctuary

It focuses on marine conservation in Europe's largest National Marine Park, Alonissos, and it addresses pressing environmental issues, such as marine pollution and habitat degradation, while also engaging with local communities to raise awareness.

Your Tasks

Volunteers will support a non-profit diving club in a variety of projects that facilitate efforts to help tackle and reduce ocean pollution and promote underwater conservation. Furthermore, volunteers will be in contact with  local communities, and environmental organizations to carry out conservation projects.

The Location

This program is situated in Alonissos, where Mamma Mia was filmed! Here, volunteers will help preserve 6 small islands and 22 uninhabited islets, home of the monk seals.

What you can Expect

We seek dedicated individuals with a passion for marine conservation. While no special equipment is needed, basic swimming skills and physical fitness are essential.

Volunteers can expect hands-on learning, scuba diving training, internationally recognized certifications, and opportunities for personal growth in a supportive environment. Most equipment is provided; volunteers should bring enthusiasm and a commitment to marine conservation.

This program is an opportunity for volunteers to become part of a worldwide movement of passionate people dealing with the global challenge of litter and the impact human development is having on the marine environment.
