WHO WE ARE :
VVCD was founded in 2015 by Ms Jenifer Xuan Nguyen with great help and support from lots of International volunteers after she has been involved in orphanage and abandoned children projects in Hanoi Vietnam. Our aims is to help the children who were born in unfortunate circumstances but still grow up to be healthy innocent and will be integrated into sociality and get success with their future lives. We use Lotus as our logo with a hope of wishing these unfortunate children to be like lotus flowers that rooted from smelly muddy pond but produce beautiful fragrant flowers with pure nature
WHAT WE DO:
Our aim is to find local and global volunteers to provide a bridge for volunteers to provide education and financial support to vulnerable children under local guidance
WHERE WE WORK:
Our project mostly operates and coordinate with orphanages in and surrounding Hanoi. Generally, Vietnam including Hanoi is a safe working environment for anybody including international volunteers. As far as I am aware, so far there is no special health requirement when working with our projects, except for Coronavirus occurs at the moment therefore a medical report is required as a must.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
VVCD is a non-profit organization established in 2015 to improve the education and living conditions for people in difficult circumstances in Vietnamese society. Our activities include caring, educating, health activities and community development, etc. VVCD's aim is to bring a better living conditions and education for vulnerable members of Vietnam’s society.
Vietnam still faces many difficulties however we believe that with our relentless efforts plus the enthusiastic help from international volunteers we can make good contribution to the development of community. In the process of working at orphanages there are still barriers to language and lifestyle but we are trying to learn and overcome those barriers by organizing meetings, exchanges and training with international volunteers to bring benefits for all parties
+ Our programs:
Our project program includes educational activities, social skills development to be available for orphans, vulnerable subjects such as women and people with disabilities. With all the projects we carry out, international volunteers play a very important role, they bring new things to local people, exchange culture, develop education,change negative habits and practices that badly affect to health, knowledge and skills development of those we want to target. We would like international volunteers to understand that your role is very essential it is like an extra pair of hands to help, especially with orphanages where children are involved. The more help available the better. When working at an orphanage or a nursing home, it is important that you show the initiative and enthusiasm to immerse yourself into the job and spend your time productively
+ Where we work:
All care placements where international volunteers stay and work are surrounded by tourist spots such as:
- Bo De Pagoda is 2km away from the center of Hanoi, it is in Long Bien District near the Red River. It is very cool and peaceful atmosphere. There are about 100 orphans and homeless people living in Bo De Pagoda
- Phuc Tue Center is located in Ba Dinh district downtown of Hanoi. You will see many beautiful landscapes in this area such as Tran Quoc pagoda, Ba Dinh square and West Lake. Phuc Tue Center is a place of care education career counseling and vocational training for children with physical and mental disabilities.
- Thuy An centre islocated in Ba Vi, a suburb of Hanoi city. It may take an hour driving from Hanoi CBD to Ba Vi. Thuy An centre is surrounded very fresh air environment with Ba Vi national forest, Perfume pagoda, etc. Thuy An disable center is the place forcare, nurturing, orthopedic rehabilitation education for disable children. Thuy An received 289 peope to take care (178 elders, 108 children from 3-15 years old
- Hanoi Friendship village,located inHoai Ducsuburb of, Hanoicity. This village provides a home to approximately 120 children with a variety of mental and physical disabilities believed to be caused by Agent Orange. The children, ages ranging between 6 and 20, receive education, medical care, vocational training, and physical therapy
.+ Where are volunteer will stay:
VVCD arrange accommodation for international volunteers bases on projects that volunteers are interested to participate. Almost of the accommodation we arrange are located in Hanoi CBD, you may stay in a homestay, share house or hotel, etc.
If volunteers who may have special requirement we will try our best to satisfy your request. VVCD always try our best to find good place for Volunteers, however, the accommodation costs are at volunteers’ expenses
VVCD is a NGO, we do not work bases on profit, what we are expecting from volunteers is a compassion with sincere thought and truthy want to help others. In return we try to help volunteers to gain a lot of useful experiences during their placement. We recommend that volunteers prepare ideas and materials such as quizzes coloring books basic language books children's books sports equipment toys etc.
And: TOGETHER WE SHARE LOVE
Volunteers work from Monday to Friday as usual not Saturday and Sunday unless they ask us to arrange such arrangements. Normal working hours are from 8:30am or 9.00am to 4.00pm.Flexible lunch break time ranges from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Volunteers can choose their own lunch break during this time frame and their working day will end at 4.00pm. Volunteers can bring packed lunches from home or explore nearby eateries as well
Out of the work-time volunteers can go to discover Vietnamese culture such as: watching the water puppet show (Rural traditional art), meuseum (Women museum, ethnic group people museum, Hoa Lo prison, Ho Chi Minh museum,...), gardening or havesting with families household, fishing, meal with all members family, cimbing, picnic together.
Sometime we are going to the bar and have city tour or karaoke.
Besides, we have some social events currently for volunteers:
1. Gifting to homeless people (water, milk, old clothes, …) and touring Long Bien flea market
2. Visiting Thuy An Disability Children and Older Nourishing Center, Ba Vi, Hanoi and Ba Vi National Park tour
3. Cooking for homeless people and orphan kids
4. Bat Trang ceramic tour
5. Collecting the garpage on the beach
- Registration Fee (refundable if you choose not to go*): Ongoing support from VVCD staff, program marketing costs, information pack, administration costs, travel costs to inspect programs and communication costs with volunteers.
- Program Fee: Project distribution, airport pick-up, orientation, program supervision, in-country 24/7 volunteer support and in-country administration costs.
- Accommodation fee (Dormitory room, homestay)
All international volunteers are warmly welcomed by VVCD staff at Noi Bai Airport and taken to their accommodation which was arranged in advance with each volunteer at their request before they arrive Vietnam. Volunteers will work with VVCD staff as well as with the staff from local placements.

VVCD has a year-round volunteer program you are welcome at any time of the year including holidays like New Year and Christmas. We only stop the project when there is a widespread epidemic in the locality or spread around the world.
