The volunteer project takes place at an eco-lodge in Costa Rica, which has German origin. In addition to ecotourism, an extensive nature conservation program is offered in a vast area of 850 hectares of land. The lodge is located 35km southwest of Limon, not far from the beautiful Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. The protected area is at the edge of the famous La Amistad National Park, known for its breathtaking biodiversity.
The eco-lodge welcomes guests from all over the world and, in addition to spending the night in cozy accommodation, offers trips (on horseback or on foot) to the rainforest. The lodge works very hard to conserve the rainforest and defend it against deforestation. They are very committed to the conservation of local flora and fauna and serve as a role model. About 70,000 people in the Limon area get clean drinking water through the water conservation project that is operated by the lodge.
As a volunteer, you learn a lot about the primary rainforest, which is, so to speak, the basis of your volunteer work. The rainforest is the natural habitat of thousands of exotic animals and plants. We have to protect it!!
During your volunteer work at the eco-lodge, you can help with a variety of tasks. You support the "guardabosques", the forest guards, and you also will get tasks in the operation of the lodge.
