The main goal of this project is to rescue and rehabilitate wild animals that have lived in inappropriate environments, like in small cages serving as attraction for tourists or in private households as pets. In addition, it also aims to help animals that have been victims of illegal animal trafficking. The project works with authorities to confiscate as many animals as possible from their harsh owners and bring them to the center. Animals are brought regularly by the police and people who want to protect the wildlife. The center opened in 2006 and calles several hectares of rainforest its own.
