    Sobre el programa

This placement offers an ideal opportunity for educators and aspiring teachers to share their knowledge and engage with young learners in Tanzania. Volunteers can teach in a local nursery/primary school, working alongside dedicated local teachers to address the challenges of limited educational resources and overcrowded classrooms. Our program tackles issues like unequal access to quality education, helping foster a love for learning in early childhood through to primary levels.

Through this experience, volunteers play a crucial role in supplementing local teaching efforts, bringing fresh perspectives, new teaching techniques, and much-needed support to the classroom. Quality education is a fundamental right, and by volunteering, you help make it accessible to all.

Volunteers will primarily work within our partner school, located in Dar es Salaam, close to the volunteer house, allowing for easy access and immersion in the local community. This opportunity provides an in-depth look at the unique educational challenges faced in developing countries, with exposure to the school system, facilities, and innovative ways local teachers engage students with limited resources.

The work environment may be different from what you're accustomed to, requiring an open mind and a flexible approach to adapt to local conditions. Volunteers can expect a warm, community-focused environment where their contributions are deeply valued.

This project is open to anyone passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of children, whether you are a qualified teacher, a recent graduate, or a student in the field of education.

    Subjects You Can Teach:

We have various subjects where your assistance is needed. Volunteers may choose to combine different areas based on their interests and expertise. Each volunteer will work closely with a local teacher to become familiar with the school environment and classroom needs.

    • Science
    • Physical Education/Sports

    Volunteer Work:

This program offers a chance to gain invaluable experience in an educational setting that may differ greatly from home. We have a range of teaching placements, allowing you to assist or lead classroom activities as skills allow. You’ll contribute directly to students' day-to-day learning while also helping local teachers enhance their techniques.

As a volunteer, you may be involved in:

    • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and classroom management.
    • Leading activities in language, science, or math to engage and inspire young learners.
    • Introducing creative and interactive teaching techniques to encourage participation.
    • Providing one-on-one support to students needing extra help.
    • Organizing and participating in physical education or sports activities to promote well-being and teamwork.

    What to Expect:

This experience provides insight into education in a developing country and the challenges faced by under-resourced schools. Volunteers will need a flexible and proactive approach, ready to handle the limited materials available and support students with patience and creativity. Additionally, our organization runs community outreach programs, allowing volunteers to participate in events that promote the importance of education, literacy, and health awareness in the broader community.
