By joining this program, you will support the local group by helping specially in teaching English in the community, as parents understand the need for the kids to learn it to improve their future career prospects. Teenagers are very interested on learning as well and some adults need it for their job.

As a participant in the English lessons program, your activities might include:

     - English workshops with children, teenagers and/or adults.

     - Preparation of material for the lessons.

The local group to whom you are working implement many activities where volunteers also play a key role in supporting initiatives benefitting the community where projects operate. In addition to the development of the community, volunteers can also expect to:

Ecotourism hiking or riding horses tours for learning more about the area

    Bathing, feeding horses

Cooking traditional Mexican food with the cooks

    Restoring natural areas by reforestations

    Beach and river clean ups

Environmental and cultural workshops with children, teenagers or adults

A day visiting and/or supporting local groups in Chacahua National Park (turtles project from October - April)

Monitoring wildlife by photo trap cameras and registration of the data

Supporting the self-sustaining farming initiatives of the ecotourism project

light construction and beautification activities at the volunteers home, Chacahua u other partner projects

It is also important to note that the volunteer schedule is 5 days a week for 4 to 6 hours per day.

    Journée typique

A usual day in the program combines teaching, community life, and hands-on activities in nature. Volunteers normally start the morning with a shared breakfast at the volunteer house, followed by preparing lesson plans or materials for the English workshops. Depending on the schedule, you might then teach a class to children, teenagers, or adults in the community, sharing not only the language but also cultural exchange.

Before or after class time, volunteers often join the local group in different activities that vary day by day: helping with ecotourism initiatives such as horse care or guided walks, supporting reforestation or clean-up campaigns, or cooking traditional meals alongside local families. On certain days, you may visit the nearby Chacahua National Park to support conservation work like turtle monitoring (October–April), wildlife camera checks, or sustainable farming tasks.

The mornings tend to be lighter, giving space to relax, share with other volunteers, or join cultural and environmental workshops. Workdays are usually 4–6 hours long, five days per week, leaving evenings and weekends free to explore, rest, or connect with the community.

Every day brings something new, but what makes the program special is the mix of teaching, learning, and contributing directly to both community development and environmental protection.
