Eco Caminhos is a self-sustaining Eco Farm and international community located in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since the beginning of the project, volunteers have been an essential part of our journey.
Our mission is to create a more sustainable way of living through Permaculture, Agroforestry, Organic Farming, Renewable Energy and Bioconstruction, while staying connected to nature and using technology responsibly and consciously.

Location
Located about two hours from Rio de Janeiro, near the small rural city of Nova Friburgo, Eco Caminhos is surrounded by mountains, rivers, waterfalls and the rich biodiversity of the Atlantic Forest.
The calm environment, starry nights and slower rhythm of life create the perfect setting to reconnect with nature, yourself and community life.
What You'll Be Doing
As
a volunteer, you will participate in different sustainable projects
around the farm and gain practical experience in areas such as Agroforestry, Organic Farming, Permaculture and Bioconstruction.
We
create personalized schedules for short-term volunteers so they can
focus on the areas that interest them the most or explore a wider
variety of experiences across the farm.
Most volunteers work 3 days per week, totaling 24 hours weekly.
Free Time & Activities
The remaining days are free to rest, explore the region, visit Rio de Janeiro, learn Portuguese or join extra community activities such as cooking workshops, hikes and camping weekends.
Learning & Community Life
During
your first week, project coordinators will introduce you to the
sustainable practices and projects developed at Eco Caminhos.
Over
time, volunteers become part of the daily life of the community,
sharing experiences, ideas and learning together with people from many
different cultures and backgrounds.
This program is about contributing with your own personal touch while discovering new ways of living with more simplicity, purpose and connection to nature.
