Our Wales Husky Ranch is family owned and operated, it is the first and only outdoor activity provider that specialise in sled dog rides and experiences in Northern Wales. Their team consist of a range of breeds including Siberian Huskies, Scandinavians Hounds, Alaskan Huskies and German short Haired pointers along with feral cats and free-range chickens! On a 13 acres smallholding surrounded by beautiful landscapes like open moorland, forest, vast beaches and Snowdonia National park they made their home! Take this opportunity to learn and experience the lifestyle of a dog musher and all the jobs and rewards that come with it. You will help with sled dog related tasks, house and land maintenance, sled dog riding when visitors are there, supervising and socialising with the dogs during free run exercise and whelping when it comes around. You will have many opportunities to experience the Welsh culture and language when visiting the village for provisions and socialising. This project is no easy holiday option but it is rewarding.
Dagelijkse activiteiten
Volunteers are a great resource to the ranch. It is always important to show respect, take initiative, ask questions and to get involved in all the activities that are done at the project.
Every day varies at the ranch but in general you will wake up around 7 AM have breakfast and then start feeding the dogs.
You will take part in some of the following tasks:
- Feeding
- Hydrating
- Cleaning Kennels
- Maintaining dog room
- Changing dog beddings
- Supervising and socialising with dogs
- Cuddling
- Grooming and bathing
- Puppy care and training
- Whelping
- Kennel and Animal house maintenance
- Planting trees
- Manage dog on stake
- Work with visitors
- Hiking with dogs

Vrijetijdsactiviteiten
The surrounding area; Mynydd Hireathog is an area of ‘Specific Scientific Interest’ and is the site of the ‘Haunted House of Denbigh Moor’ which can be seen and visited from the ranch. The Clwydian Range – ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ surrounds the local main towns of Denbigh and Ruthin. Snowdonia National Park is within 30 minutes drive.

Voorwaarden
Om deel te nemen aan het programma dien je tenminste 18 jaar oud te zijn op de startdatum van het programma. Er kunnen uitzonderingen gemaakt worden indien je een bewijs van toestemming kan aantonen van uw wettelijke voogd(en) of samen met je ouders deelneemt.
Je dient over volgende taalkennis te beschikken Engels (basis niveau)
CV, Letter of motivation, Application form, Policies en Liability waiver.
Geen beperkingen. Helpende handen van over de hele wereld zijn welkom.
At least a basic knowledge of English.

Airport Pick up & Transfer
- You will be picked up from Manchester or Liverpool Airport and from there you will be transferred to your accommodation on the project site.

- Meals will be included and prepared, however, we all take turns with cooking.

- You can use FRONTEERINGS office as a reliable address to have your mail delivered

- If there are any problems with your volunteer project we are always there to help you and mediate between yourself and the organization.

- Through FRONTEERING you have the possibility to book tours in the Wales after you have finished your volunteer project.
24/7 Emergency contact
- If there are any problems during you stay in Wales, you can reach us 24/7 to assist you.
You will be picked up from Manchester or Liverpool Airport and from there you will be transferred to your accommodation on the project site.
A comfortable room within the family home will be provided, including bed linen. A large bathroom is shared with the family which includes a bath and shower.
The water supplied to the property is via a mountain well, this is filtered within the property to ensure that it is safe for human consumption.
The Host father and mother take turns to prepare meals, however, the volunteer would be expected to help and perhaps prepare an occasional meal.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be included. The volunteer will have the choice of cereal’s, toast and eggs (from our chickens) for breakfast, sandwiches or eggs for lunch and a cooked meal for dinner.
Makkelijke toegang op de project site
Visum, vluchten, reisverzekering en vaccinaties zijn NIET inbegrepen in de programmakosten.
De dichtste luchthaven is Manchester Airport (MAN) in Manchester. We assisteren u met het vinden van goedkope vluchten naar Verenigd Koninkrijk.
Naar het buitenland reizen is een avontuur en het is best om goed voorbereid te zijn. Plots ziek worden of gewond raken, annulaties of diefstal - een reisverzekering voor Verenigd Koninkrijk biedt zekerheid en is een meerwaarde.
Als je de intentie hebt om als vrijwilliger aan de slag te gaan in Verenigd Koninkrijk dien je eerst medisch advies in te winnen alvorens je eropuit trekt. Kijk de benodigde vaccinaties na voor Verenigd Koninkrijk.
