Combine your passion for animals and desire to give back to society by improving the unfortunate situation of abandoned street animals in Greece. During this volunteering program, you can help to look for a new safe and beautiful home for stray dogs.
The program is managed by a local in Greece at the beautiful Crete Island, that aims to improve the situation of animals living on the streets. Due to the amount of work that it takes to keep the program running, the help provided by volunteers is always greatly appreciated. Animals are only mediated when a family has the correct surrounding for a dog.
Before starting your volunteer work project, you will receive an orientation by our local staff. The local stuff is run by english speaking people. They are very happy to welcome volunteers from all over the world. Usually you will be in the program with other volunteers. The project can be reached in a few minutes by bus.
Dagelijkse activiteiten
You will help from 6 am (during high season and climate) or 8/9 am (low season) till 2 pm or you can do the afternoon shift. Your schedule is flexible, depending on the volunteer. Like this, you will have time to enjoy your
afternoon at the beach.
This program allows you to rescue and work with abandoned cats and dogs while helping them to find a new home. Daily tasks may include:
- Feeding animals
- Socializing
- Cleaning cages and equipment
- Drug administration and support with sterilization procedures
- Helping with rescue operations where animals are brought in from the street
- Food distribution
for animals that live on the street
- Fundraising & Social Media (for long term volunteers, just a few periods per year)
Volunteers help 5 days a week. Please stay flexible with your days off, as this depends on the number of volunteers and local helpers.
Vrijetijdsactiviteiten
During your free time you can go to the beach. Enjoy
activities like swimming, relaxing
on the beach and so on. Additionally, Greece has a lot of historic sites to see!
When you are close to
the beach people sell souvenirs and other cities are easy to reach. You can also go to other islands by ferry and discover them on your free days.

Om deel te nemen aan het programma dien je tenminste 18 jaar oud te zijn op de startdatum van het programma. Er kunnen uitzonderingen gemaakt worden indien je een bewijs van toestemming kan aantonen van uw wettelijke voogd(en) of samen met je ouders deelneemt.
Je dient over volgende taalkennis te beschikken Engels (gemiddeld niveau)

Your accommodation will be in a fully equipped apartment. It is about 10-20 minutes away from the shelter. The accommodations are close to the center and the ocean. You will stay in a single or double room during COVID-19.
Makkelijke toegang op de project site
Visum, vluchten, reisverzekering en vaccinaties zijn NIET inbegrepen in de programmakosten.
Eten, tussendoortjes en drankjes zijn bijkomende kosten.
De dichtste luchthaven is Chania International Airport (CHQ) in Chania. We assisteren u met het vinden van goedkope vluchten naar Griekenland.
Naar het buitenland reizen is een avontuur en het is best om goed voorbereid te zijn. Plots ziek worden of gewond raken, annulaties of diefstal - een reisverzekering voor Griekenland biedt zekerheid en is een meerwaarde.
Als je de intentie hebt om als vrijwilliger aan de slag te gaan in Griekenland dien je eerst medisch advies in te winnen alvorens je eropuit trekt. Kijk de benodigde vaccinaties na voor Griekenland.

Uw finale betaling zal worden goedgekeurd door Jamso Trainee gedurende de aanmeld procedure. Veel voorkomende oplossingen zijn een banktransfer of contante betaling op de projectsite.
