    Om programmet

Join the Youth Support Program in Barcelona! In Barcelona, there is a growing poverty divide, and many children lack access to essential support services. Schools and after-school centers provide a safe, supportive place for students to be productive during their free time. Volunteers play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive environment, helping with personal development, and teaching life skills that can change young people's futures.

Youth Support volunteers assist students aged 3-16 with homework, organizing activities, teaching English, mentoring, and simply spending time with them. During school and summer holidays, volunteers also help with trips to the beach or summer camps outside town. You'll work closely with the organization staff and other volunteers to promote better outcomes for young people in Barcelona.

    What to Expect:

    • Inclusive Environment: Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all students.

    • Personal Development: Help children and young people develop life skills and achieve personal growth.

    • Engaging Activities: Participate in organizing fun and educational activities.

    Daily Tasks:

    • Homework Help: Assist students with their homework.

    • Activity Organization: Arrange and facilitate activities.

    • English Teaching: Teach English to young people.

    • Mentoring: Mentor children and support their personal development.

    • School Support: Assist educational teams with daily routines and break times.

    • Playground Activities: Engage with children during playground activities.

    • Holiday Activities: Organize games, workshops, theatre plays, and excursions during school and summer holidays.

    Why Join?

    • Make an Impact: Support the personal and educational development of underprivileged youth.

    • Gain Experience: Develop skills in teaching, mentoring, and activity organization.

    • Cultural Immersion: Experience life in Barcelona while making a positive difference.

If you arrive prior to Sunday, you will still be able to receive an airport pickup and our team can transport you to the accommodation, but you will need to pay an extra fee for this service.

    Overnatting

You will be accommodated in a social hostel with a meaningful social mission in Barcelona. The Hostel has the capacity to accommodate up to 320 conscious travelers who want to visit Barcelona in a responsible way. There are various common areas such as the dining room, the living room, room balconies, and outside areas.

The hostel is in a neighborhood where you can find everything you need: a mall, local coffee shops, supermarkets, ATMs, a hospital, police, and most utilities you will need are just around the corner. The Hostel is 10 minutes walking from the metro stop and has many buses that can bring you to the city center in 1 hour.

But what is really unique about it is its social concept. The hostel is actually a social business for a non-profit organization run in the same building. The non-profit develops a wide range of programs, campaigns, and activities for children and youth, their families, and third sector organizations.

    Mat og drikke

We will provide breakfast and dinner at the hostel every day. The hostel restaurant offers meals with fresh local ingredients every day for all volunteers in a very Spanish style, and they are prepared to accommodate most diet restrictions, such as vegan and vegetarians, gluten-free, and lactose intolerant.

For lunch, you can explore the city :)
