Partners For Conservation is a new and ambitious organisation to serve as a platform where each contribution is appreciated and counted. This gives an opportunity to all society members from farmers to businessmen, from children to adults, from illiterates to academicians, from the recipients to donors, volunteers to professionals an opportunity contribute towards a biodiversity legacy.
NGO Administration Supporter is a programme that gives opportunity to people without biodiversity conservation background to still be useful to it through the provision of needed human resources. Administration is the engine of a successful organisation and through this programme, volunteers will be contributing to a successful implementation of the rest of Partners For Conservation programmes by ensure it meets necessary managerial standards required in the local and international conservation arenas.
A volunteer should be ready to use the personal curiosity and the learning will and capacity to strengthen the NGO image in the eyes of local and international partners.
Partners For Conservation welcomes volunteers with different background in the area of promotion, administration, public relation, Information and Technology mainly in the area of websites and social media, fundraising, grant and proposal writing

Volunteer for this programme will be working with mainly with office staff although even though field works are planned to help the volunteer interact with the field stakeholders. For instance during the field planning meeting, assessment/evaluation or audit. A volunteer may also be in the field for information collection and official meeting (representing the organisation in functions, meetings and other conservation gathering)Interested volunteer must be pro-active and versatile. There’s no-specific equipment required for this programme.
The volunteer will be based and operate in Musanze district. Musanze is a district in the Northern Province of Rwanda. Its capital city is Ruhengeri which; is also sometimes known as Musanze. Musanze is Rwanda's most mountainous district, containing the largest part of the Volcanoes National Park and its head office at Kinigi. Five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga chain (Karisimbi, Bisoke, Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura) are within the district boundaries. It is also in this district that most of Rwanda's mountain gorillas are found, making it the most popular tourist destination in the country. Musanze's capital, Ruhengeri, is one of the largest cities in Rwanda and serves as a hub for tourists.
It is easy for a volunteer to access the rest corners of the country from Musanze for example Musanze is at 1h drive from Gisenyi and the Democratic Republic of Congo border. Gisenyi is known for its super weekends for water sports lovers. Musanze is also at 2h30 drive from Kigali and at 25 minutes to the Cyanika, the Uganda border.
A day as a volunteer varies on a daily basis. The day starts at 8:30am and ends at 4:30pm. Likewise the rest of the staff, a volunteer at Partners For Conservation has a 1h30 break for lunch. The lunch is served by Partners For Conservation and shared within its compound. Partners For Conservation ensures volunteer intervention supports the necessary need and where a volunteer is happy to intervene. Partners For Conservation supports volunteer’s intervention by providing a comprehensive team involving among others a driver (where necessary), a local interpreter and senior officer/ project manager. This is key to ensure there’s excellent communication on and off the field for a successful intervention and teamwork. Basically, a volunteers will be involved in the following areas: promotion, marketing and advertisement and events management, IT support mainly web and blog management, conducting surveys and researches ( recommended or individuals), administration support including accounts, finance, logistic, human resources management, public relation through interacting with various stakeholders or representing the organisation in meetings, conference and events such as the Gorilla Naming Ceremony and fundraising and grants and proposal writing.

However, volunteers are required to follow rules provided by where they stay this implies that they are called to communicate about their time in and out of the lodge for example. Partners For Conservation recommends the best activities based to those available in and around the town although volunteers are free to choose according to their preferences. For volunteers looking to travel away from their bases (for holidays for example,) they’re requested to dully fill annual leave application forms available at Partners For Conservation. Partners For Conservation organize airport shuttle to pick and drop the volunteer. Each times, Partners For Conservation ensures that there’s a person capable of speaking to the volunteer to avoid any culture shock. This is catered for by the volunteering fees.
The provided accommodation is located in Musanze town in a residential area far from bars and other beer selling points. It’s a self-contained dormitory with WI-Fi 24 hrs/24hrs. It has a nice garden outside.

Yes, we provide three meals a day including continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most of our cuisine is local which, includes French fries. We serve soft drinks only and no beer as we don't sell it.
Volunteer can join this programme at any time throughout the year. On arrival, Partners For Conservation organizes a shuttle to pick up the volunteer at the airport (the organisation also provides a shuttle to drop the volunteer at the end of the volunteering). Upon arrival at PFC HQs and introduction to the staff, a volunteer is given a week for cultural immersion after which he’s introduced to the field and partners including beneficiaries and local authorities of where the activities are located. During the cultural immersion programme, the volunteer assisted by a personal interpreter visits important places in the area such as markets, recreation places etc and is introduced to the ways of living of Rwandans.
