    COACHING SOCCER 

    in Ghana with Samba Africa  is a chance for volunteers to share their passion for this popular sport abroad and to help children develop their skills and talents. Soccer is the national sport in Ghana and its popularity can be seen everywhere. From the numerous soccer flags on cars, stickers in taxis, locals in soccer jerseys, or kids playing in the street, it is immediately apparent that Ghanaians are extremely passionate about soccer. Given the 'Black Stars' - the Ghanaian team - successful performance in recent World Cups, soccer in Ghana can only continue to get bigger and better.

    Our soccer projects in Ghana provide the opportunity for all young players to develop their basic skills and techniques with the hope that some may achieve the success of Premiership stars  Asamoah Gyan, Michael Essien . There will also be the opportunity to see one of Ghana's many top division club teams - like Kotoko and Hearts of Oak - in action. Volunteers sometimes take young players to games to help with their soccer development and to provide a well-earned break from their sport coaching.

    Volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of a youth academy. Volunteers will take part in the morning meeting with the local coaches to prepare the training session, do match analysis, and discuss the weekly schedule.     Volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of a youth academy. Volunteers will take part in the morning meeting with the local coaches to prepare the training session, do match analysis, and discuss the weekly schedule. In the afternoons they will work with a youth team, giving them the benefit of their newly acquired coaching knowledge and skills.

    This project is a fantastic chance to improve your skills and ability while also helping local children to develop their game. If you are good enough you may even be selected to play for one of the local third division teams in one of their friendly games.

    Weekends, are free days for the volunteers. You may choose to travel out of town to see the many interesting sights and sounds in other parts of Ghana or hang out with your fellow volunteer(s) and/or locals in the neighborhood.

    Weekends, are free days for the volunteers. You may choose to travel out of town to see the many interesting sights and sounds in other parts of Ghana or hang out with your fellow volunteer(s) and/or locals in the neighborhood.

    Weekend trips available include visits to Mole National Park in the Northern Region of Ghana. This National Park offers a great Safari-like experience and is one of the biggest Elephant Sanctuaries in Africa with the chance to spot Lions, Leopards & Antelopes in their natural habitat.
Volunteers can also take a trip to Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana to relax in the beautiful beaches and see the famous Cape Coast castle, the Kakum Canopy walkway and Elmina castle, where slave trade begun.

    Um an diesem Programm teilzunehmen, musst du zu Programmbeginn mindestens 18 Jahre alt sein. Es kann Ausnahmen geben, wenn du die Erlaubnis deines/r Erziehungsberechtigten vorlegen kannst oder wenn du von deinen Eltern begleitet wirst

    Abholung vom Flughafen Kotoka International Airport

    On the day (or night) of your arrival, SAMBA AFRICA VOLUNTEERING (SAVO) staffs will be at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to a hotel with air-conditioned rooms and restaurant only in the night of your arrival, Orientation and transportation to your assigned placement will be done the next morning following your arrival day but arrival in day time you will be transported to your destination (KUMASI).

    Unterkunft

    The accommodation belongs to the host-families. There are always other people in the house as well; and they would be willing to give you some assistance. You would be placed in the same location with another volunteer - unless you specifically state that you like to be stayed alone. Participants coming as a couple or pair will not be placed with other volunteers in the same bedroom. The volunteer(s) have their separate room - with a lock .

    Verpflegung

    Host families will provide volunteers with breakfast, lunch and dinner during the working week.

    Breakfast is usually ready by around 7am; however volunteer can eat later if you prefer to get up late. Lunch is usually packed by your host family in a lunch box so that you can eat at your project if you wish. Dinner is usually served around 6pm.

    If you have special eating needs, you can inform us. Even though special eating needs are not something we can guarantee, we will do our best to meet your needs.
