    About the program:

    Working in Physiotherapy therapy area  in Kathmandu Community hospital, can be an incredible opportunity for those seeing to learn some things new and different form their existing experience back in home. You can do a 2 weeks small experience session to couple months internship with our foundation in Nepal capital while staying with a fully local family in heart of Kathmandu  which again gives you a chance to see different country  through eye of locals.

    As a physiotherapy intern, you’ll shadow registered physiotherapists and may take part in physio sessions for adults and children, depending on prior experience and skills. The majority of work will be observation based (unless already qualified), which allows a great opportunity to gain valuable first hand knowledge, giving your resume that extra advantage!

    You will be able to witness how the physio’s at the clinic cope and handle the limited recourses. This can be an eye opening experience.

    There will not be any hands-on work unless you are experienced. If not, then most of your learning will mainly be through observation. Many options are available for volunteers depending on your skill level. You’ll spend the first couple days observing and being assessed for your experience level which will be discussed and agreed to with the professionals at the clinic, in order to assess your daily tasks.

    After successful completations of your time with our programme as a physiotherapist  you will be gain a certificate of experience from local institutions you work with and also from our organization .

    There will be professionals in the area where you will be working with, but your presence  as a volunteer will bring some new technique and ideas in the field: Since we work with local community hospitals where majority of the middle and lower class income peoples visit, and it will be a good contribution of your time and energy to needy peoples.

    Volunteers will wake up in home stay in kathmandu  and after having breakfast at 8am, they can reach the hospital and can work 4-5 hours before returning for late lunch to the home stay.

    Volunteers will wake up in home stay in kathmandu  and after having breakfast at 8am, they can reach the hospital and can work 4-5 hours before returning for late lunch to the home stay. 

    Usually from 9 Am to 1:00 PM volunteer can work in hospital spending  the day with doctors and nurses to assist them. You will be assigned to your sessions based on your experience and field of study in physiotherapy. Tasks and timings may vary depending on the current needs and conditions at the hospital you will be workings with . first few days it will be observation and then you  will be given certain roles. 

    While volunteers can walk around to the temples and city center during the day, read books, help the local family in cooking and cleaning to get engage with some things and later in the evening have a dinner before bed.

    You will ride the public buses while in Kathmandu to get the clinic from home stay. the distance from home stay can be as close as 10 minutes to half hour ride.

    The cost includes the following components 

    Airport arrival pick up, 
    All food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the volunteering time 
    Supervision of the programme from beginning to end 
    Accommodations in twin sharing or private as per the availability of the places

    Airport drop back to your return flight
    All volunteering assistance and orientations 
    Walking tours and cultural immersion 

    Note:  
    Lunch and Dinner are mostly Nepali typical type like Dal and rice with fresh cooked curry, yogurt, Paratha, noodles, fried rice etc. 
     
    Breakfast will be  choice of egg with home made pan cakes and fruits served with Nepali tea and coffee.

    If you have vegetarian , vegan or any specialty fooding habit  we are ready to make the food of your choose .

    ( PER WEEK USD 50 NOT INCLUDED WHICH GOES TO THE LOCAL HOSPITLS DEVELOPMENT , VOLUNTEER CAN PAY THIS EXTRA FEE BASED ON THE NUMBER OF WEEKS THEY DO THE WORK)

    Our representative will pick you up at the airport named Tribhuwan intl airport based in Kathmandu  and drive you to your home stay and give you the necessary info including the visit to some local sights and orientation about the program and locality. When you are fine to start the program, you will be taken to the place where your work starts.
