We started building up a primary school from scratch because there is none around in the radius of 7 kilometers. This means the children had to walk for 14 kilometers back and forth under the scorching heat without shoes. It was too stressful and discouraging to acquire education in this area. As a result, there is high rates of early marriages to older men and pregnancies for young girls and the vicious cycle continues. The illiteracy levels are high and the area is underdeveloped with no basic facilities in the vicinity.
Finally, the first classroom is up & running and we have started to break this cycle. We are investing in education so that it can be accessible. Schools open up areas through socio-economic activities, information and knowledge. Education is an equalizer and a pathway to sustainable development because it is a learning institution.
We are looking for volunteers to help us in teaching, construction, landscaping, and environmental practices. We are open to ideas and initiatives. Let us know how you can help us realize this dream by joining us. Use your strength to make a difference where it is much needed.
