The Mmanze Centre for Rural Development & Training (MACERUDET) is a local NGO located in Uganda. MACERUDET is a community based organization mainly developing and managing self-help community projects in all the welfare works related fields. It takes its name from the Mmanze community, one of the communities of the Masulita sub-county.
MACERUDET has 25 years of experience in the field of welfare works thanks to the contribution of a small group of of professionals located in Masulita, Uganda.

MACERUDET volunteers enjoy an extremely unique experience not only in the work but also in the atmosphere they live in.You will be made to feel at home and you will taste all the different cultural foods, see their dancing and have the opportunity to join in. You can go for walks to see the monkeys and other natural living things and you can learn about the various local medicinal plants. Uganda has plenty for you to be doing during your time off, from white water rafting to on foot safaris.

We accept volunteers without discrimination of race, color, tribe and religious denominations. Volunteers work for at least five hours a day.The rest of the hours especially in the evenings after 4.00 pm is free time. Weekends and public holidays are also free to all volunteers to go for touring to different places of their choice.
Volunteers will be responsible to work with the local community to construct the green house, cool house and drip irrigation system.50% of the program fees goes towards the buying of the factory made building materials building materials like cement, iron bars, metallic windows, metallic doors, stone dust, transportation of the materials wire mesh. The green House is supplied by Balton Uganda .We can only install the house after buying it from Balton. In that respect, our major role is to raise the money to buy the green house and later get the technical advice from them before its being installed. This is also the same case with the drip irrigation system same.It can only be supplied and installed by Balton Uganda after buying it from them.

MACERUDET volunteers are accommodated with host families as a means of learning our social cultural beliefs, practices where they are looked after at a cost of USD 250$ per week .The fees is paid through western union money transfer system before arrival. This fee includes airport pick up, accommodation, feeding, orientation, and laundry.50% of the program fees goes towards the buying of the building materials that is needed to construct the cool house,to buy the green house and drip irrigation system from Balton Uganda.

During the week we organize a variety of activities for volunteers in the evenings.  We often play football (soccer), cards and board games or chill out around the bar or go out for a dance getting to know fellow volunteers from around the world.
