About the program

This program has the main purpose to actively contribute to Fight Food Waste and Hunger in a structured system that feeds over 3000 people every day. The volunteers will help the local teams collecting, organizing and distributing the food excess from restaurants and cafés to the families who really need it.

Volunteers in this program support a network of centers which recover food, in good conditions, from local supermarkets, cafés, and restaurants, to re-distribute it among families, elderly and homeless people in need.

As a volunteer your daily tasks will include:
- Collecting the food from local providers;
- Assisting with packaging it;
- Assisting with the sorting and storage of any food left for the next day;
- Distributing it to the families;
- Clean up at the end of the shift.

This is a 100% volunteer based non-profit with two extremely important missions: Fighting Food Waste and Feed people.

We would love to welcome volunteers from all over the world to join this fantastic project.

Porto is the second biggest city in Portugal and one of the most authentic cities to visit in the country. Stroll through its sinuous and picturesque streets and feel the pulse of the city, or take the tram to the mouth of the river Douro and get to know the excellent beaches and the outdoor cafés. The historic center of Porto was declared UNESCO World Heritage but is the hospitality and forceful character of the locals that will delight you.  Porto is a vibrant and young city with countless cafés, bars, and clubs to have a really good time at night, or relaxed rooftops to have a drink and enjoy the warm Portuguese climate.

Porto, the gate to the North of the country, is definitely worth the visit!
