Sports: Our sport projects include football (soccer) which is the most common game in our world, basketball and handball volunteers with such special skill will help in the personal development of young sports men and women in the society. As a volunteer coach Sports Project, you will be helping with all these aspects of development while working with the most enthusiastic people in some of the poorest communities in northern Ghana. We will help you enjoy and make your vacation a remembering one. You could be learning more about your sports in the morning and organizing a game in the afternoon. Volunteer sports coaches are responsible for helping in the organization in all aspects of training; from setting up drills and fitness sessions, to coaching sports teams in competitive games.
Through well-established relationships with local teams, clubs, and carefully structured sports placements, we are able to assist volunteers regardless of coaching experience. Whatever your interests we can find the right Sports project overseas for you! Volunteer Sports Coaching Placement takes you on a sport coaching which can have a very positive impact on children. As well as the obvious physical and mental benefits that regular exercise provides, there are many inherent life-skills to be learnt, such as the importance of team-work, communication and discipline.
Participants will be working with children both boys and girls from the ages of 10 - 16 years of age in the cameroon school.
You will be staying in our volunteer home in Bolgatanga Ghana. And volunteers should bring equipments that could help them do the type of sports they want to teach.
Typical day
A program/timetable for your stay will be designed by the program coordinator, and you will have the chance to contribute to this program to ensure that you make the best use of your time in Ghana. Depending on what you will be doing, your days will start at 8am and will end at 5pm. You will also have free time for personal explorations and to plan any projects that you would like to implement in the community.

Volunteering for Future For Africa is flexible. This provides you with great chances to get out and see as much of Ghana as you can. Weekends provide a good time to get into the cites and the countryside and see the sights or even take an overnight bus to an attraction further afield and you can take a few extra days on to weekend trips to make them worthwhile. Places to visit includes Mole National Park, Kakum National Park ,Paga Crocodile Pond ,Tongo Hills , Green House Eco Village Karimenga and the Cape Coast Castle

Requirements
In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.
You need to speak English (basic level)

The little participants pay is divided into three parts, where 70% goes to the program-participants costs during the stay. Another 20% goes directly into our development projects. The final 10% will be spent on administrative costs.

You will arrive at Kotoka International Airport or Tamale airport and a staff of Future4Africa will pick you up from the airport.
Future4Africa has a volunteer house located at the Yikene.
The house has almost all the basic facilities you need and there is an opportunity to interact with other participants from all over the world and the wider community.

Visa, flights, travel insurance or vaccinations are NOT included in the program fees.
The nearest airport is Kotlik Airport (KOT) in Kotlik. We assist you to find cheap flights to Ghana.
Going abroad is an adventure and it is always best to be prepared. Sudden illness or injury, cancellation or theft - a travel insurance for Ghana provides security and is a plus to have.
If you are intending to volunteer in Ghana you should seek medical advice before starting your social journey. Check your required vaccinations for Ghana.
