The
hospital covers all modern medical care like maternity, paediatrics,
family planning, diabetics, tuberculosis, eye and dental care, mental
health, physiotherapy, and HIV & AIDS. Experience is required for
this project, you must be either training in a medical profession, or
be a qualified doctor or nurse.
You can assist in more than one
department/units depending on your skills, interest and the need of
the hospital.
Please keep an open mind and remember that hospitals in Tanzania are run differently than in your home country. For example, resources are often limited and access to healthcare depends on a person’s income.
The hospital strives to serve and treat people by providing competent and compassionate medical care, promotion of community health programs.
The project is located 10km (6.2miles) from the hostel and can be reached via public transport. However, the Seliani Hospital provides free transport for all staff where the bus will stop on the main road in-front of the hostel.
This project requires a donation of US$200 per month. This donation is not included in the program fee, and is paid directly to the hospital on your first day. Furthermore, you are expected to send us your Proof of Academic Certificates.
You will be working Monday to Friday from morning to afternoon as agreed. A typical day starts at 7:30am with staff morning prayer and the daily briefing. You will be part of the daily ward rounds at 9am. In agreement with the hospital matron, you will decide in which wards you will work depending on your previous knowledge and interest. Interns and volunteers will take over various tasks, such as in patient and out patient care, deliveries in the women’s ward, or assistance with operations.
We offer a wide range of activities at affordable volunteer rates like:

center. It takes 25 minutes to walk to the city center. To get to the
city quickly, there are motorcycle cabs and dala dalas (minibuses)
everywhere.

small spa.
A wall more than two meters high and our night watchmen
ensure a safe stay.

There are closets in the room, in addition, each guest has a safe that can be secured with a lock. The rooms are separated by gender. Single and double rooms are available for a surcharge of 50 Euro per person per week.
Board
Our cook prepares vegetables, fruit, pancakes and daily changing breakfast highlights. Tea, coffee, margarine, honey, peanut butter, jam are also available.
