About the program

Want to have a long lasting and sustainable impact on our community, coaches, and players?

This program may be the perfect fit. We are developing player’s soccer technique, strategy, & discipline, but we know our job doesn’t stop there. We believe our players must mature and grow on and off the field. Our goal is to not only have alumni playing on a professional level, but also that they contribute to their families, local community, and those in need around them.

As an International Coach you will work alongside our coaching staff & players on a weekly basis in a number of ways. An average week we will schedule:
  • Physical Training
  • Mid-Week Trainings
  • Saturday Trainings
  • Personalized Trainings
  • English Classes
  • Community Cleanup & Outreach
  • Occasional Events
  • Non Tournament games 1-2 month (Seasonal)
  • Tournament games every week typically for 12 weeks (Seasonal)
Each week you will have half a day free on Saturday, Sunday free and most of Tuesday and Friday. Sometimes we have games on Sunday when we are in a tournament, but we will be able to let you know the game schedule ahead of time. As volunteer will help 5 days a week.
Usually training will be at the local soccer field or gym. Sometimes you will make training at the beach.

Be prepared to do a little bit of everything! One of our core values is that everything is important. Some days we will be marking the field for the big game, teaching English to our players, preparing trainings, performing personalized training, leading physical training sessions, etc. The key to keep in mind is that EVERY thing we do is of great importance. You will work alongside and under the leadership of our coaching staff. One key to your success will be to develop proactive leadership skills. We will schedule out a lot of things with you, but we welcome new ideas!

Holidays:
From mid-December to mid-January, schools in Costa Rica are closed and our program is also on vacation.

About the project

Jamso Trainee do help students finding volunteering projects and internships around the world.

Meet your organization

Jamso Trainee has been placing volunteers around the world for over six years. We're passionate about making a difference in developing communities. Cause we are a smaller agency we stay always in a good communication to our volunteers and to the communites. For us it is important to find the right programm for your stay abroad. Don´t travel just like a tourst!

History:

Jamso Trainee startet in December 2012 helping in communities in Costa Rica. Costa Rica is since now the county with the most interns, volunteers and travelers.

Since 2013 Jamso Trainee started working with partners in Ecuador, Peru, South Afrika.

2015 we begin working with our partner Bali and Thailand.

Visiting projects and getting more relationshsips with local charities is a goal of each year. Jamso Trainee don´t increase too fast, because for us it is very important to hold long contacts and stay in a good communication with volunteers and projects.

2021 at Soccer Assistant Coach & Community

2023 at Support a Cat and Dog Shelter

I loved my time in Santa Barbara in this program. The work was delightful and fulfilling, but it was a private (and bilingual) school, and the children I was teaching weren't the ones who would've needed it the most, I would say. That being said, I feel that I made a significant change and that my ...
