Become part of a special soccer community in the beautiful coastal city of Uvita.This project is managed exclusively by international volunteers and local volunteers!

Until now, many local children were not able to participate in trainings that could be financed on a monthly basis. This project is for all children of the community to give them the chance to attend an effective and good training regularly.

Until now, many local children were not able to participate in trainings that could be financed on a monthly basis. This project is for all children of the community to give them the chance to attend an effective and good training regularly.

It is important that through you values like: Team spirit, discipline, responsibility and that the children are given a perspective through sports. This program is run exclusively by our international volunteers and local parents. Volunteers can take responsibility and make an important contribution to the local community.
We welcome volunteers from all over the world and look forward to a cultural exchange. In order for you to be well scheduled, please tell us in your application the position you play or used to play, your language skills, and if you already have a coaching license.

When working with children, every day is different; in our program, for example, a day might look like this:
The morning is basically free for you to go to the beach or waterfall or just relax with the other volunteers in the garden of the accommodation.

When working with children, every day is different; in our program, for example, a day might look like this:
The morning is basically free for you to go to the beach or waterfall or just relax with the other volunteers in the garden of the accommodation.

1.30 - 3.00 pm Planning the training sessions for the day for different age groups
3.00 - 4.00 pm Social Media and Fundrasing
4.00 - 7.00 pm Training sessions different age groups
Some days of the week, workouts start an hour later and go until 8.00 - 9.00 pm
On Fridays the team meeting takes place and the upcoming week is discussed as well as past training sessions are analyzed.
The project currently takes place from Monday to Friday. In the future, smaller tournaments are planned 1x month.

Holidays:
From mid-December to mid-January, schools in Costa Rica are closed and our program is also on vacation.

During your freetime you can go to the beach, waterfall or river or relax with other volunteers at your accommodation. Close to the beach people sell souvenirs. During your days off you can discover other cities.

Requirements

Minimum Age: 18 years

In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents.

Language Skills

You need to speak English (intermediate level) or Spanish (basic level)

Education Requirements

e.g. sports (soccer) at Intermediate or high school level

Airport Pickup at Juan Santamaria International Airport

Our team will pick you up at San Jose Airport. We can organize the pick up from the airport till 11.30 am. Our driver will bring you to the bus station in San Jose. The bus will take about 4 hours to Uvita. If you are coming later our driver do offer a add on package with one day overnight at a host family close to the airport.

Accommodation

You will be in a volunteer house. Rooms are very well equipped and you will have dorm room. Single rooms up on request on a extra fee. You will share bathroom with other volunteers.  Our traveler recommend the accommodation to 100%. The accommodation is about 10-15 minutes by bisicial from the project.

Food & Beverages

Breakfast and dinner are included, as well during weekend.
For breakfast there is a different dish every day e.g. Gallo Pinto (the national dish), pancakes, cereals, porridge, enpanadas or scrambled eggs.
Dinner is a typical meal such as arroz con pollo. But also a pasta dish and salad is served from time to time.
The accommodation has a well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare your lunch.

The nearest airport is Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San Jose. We assist you to find cheap flights to Costa Rica. FIND CHEAP FLIGHTS

Travel Insurance

Details on arrival

You can start the project very flexible, each Monday. Arriving day is Saturday/Sunday. You will get an pick up at San Jose Airport and on next day a driver bring you to bus station in San Jose. The bus will take about 4 hours.

Jamso Trainee startet in December 2012 helping in communities in Costa Rica. Costa Rica is since now the county with the most interns, volunteers and travelers. 

Since 2013 Jamso Trainee started working with partners in Ecuador, Peru, South Afrika.

2015 we begin working with our partner Bali and Thailand.

Visiting projects and getting more relationshsips with local charities is a goal of each year. Jamso Trainee don´t increase too fast, because for us it is very important to hold long contacts and stay in a good communication with volunteers and projects.
