Volunteers will assist teachers in all daily tasks, from assisting students with their difficulties in organizing lesson plans and educational materials. The School program allows those with a desire to educate the opportunity to ensure students understand the material and provide extra assistance that the teacher may be overburdened to give. Teacher's assistants will be involved occasionally with teaching students one on one, supervision of the teacher, filling in any gaps that they may have missed in the lesson. You will also need to put your creativity to use to plan innovative lessons that fit into the Ghanian Curriculum. Volunteers are given the opportunity to use their intercultural skills to pass lessons about the world onto their students while helping to expand the minds of Ghana’s future leaders. Program arranged transportation will be provided to and from work each day.
Volunteers will work hand in hand with the teachers with their daily schedule beginning around 8 am. The day will begin with the daily preparations of educational materials and getting the students settled and ready to learn. Volunteers will then assist teachers to execute their lesson plan, by helping the teachers teach the students and working one on one with the students to ensure they learn their lesson. During break time volunteers will supervise the children as they eat and do sport, inspiring the leaders of the future through games and activities. At the end of the day when the students leave, volunteers will help to clean up and prepare for another exciting day.
